The downstairs bedroom includes a king sized bed and a pack in play for little ones. Upstairs you will find a kid's room with twin bunk beds, a trundle and some fun board games. This room has plenty of floor space for the kids to stretch out and play. An additional bedroom with a queen sized bed and office area is connected to the bedroom with a Jack and Jill bathroom in between. Each floor has a full sized bathroom with a shower/tub combination.
Downstairs you will find a fully functional kitchen including a full sized refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. We also provide everything you need to cook a delicious meal as well as a coffee maker. The laundry room includes a full sized washer and dryer in addition to an iron and ironing board. The living room includes several comfortable chairs as well as a great view of the creek. An indoor creek facing bar is available for eating space as well as a wrap around porch to enjoy your meal outside.
You will find a spacious deck with a sunshade for those hot afternoons. A grill and fire pit is included for your enjoyment. Just past the deck is the gorgeous private pool. The pool is 3 feet on the shallow end and 6 feet on the deep end. The pool is surrounded by a fence for maximum privacy on two sides and a beautiful creek side view on the other side.
Just a short walk from the pool deck will get you to the peaceful creek with seating along the edge. We encourage you to drop a fishing line in to test your luck. You can also sit around the fire pit, roast marshmallows and share family stories.
Looking for a place to have family pictures made or have a small wedding ceremony? Just a two minute drive down the road will get you to The Secret Place. This is a beautiful scenic place with spots for ceremonies and it even has a swimming hole! Reservations are required.
A short 8 minute drive will get you to downtown Fort Payne where you can find local restaurants, shops, and activities all in walking distance. The Spot is a wonderful place to order lunch and coffee, then walk the strip to find an assortment of locally owned shops, including a gourmet popcorn place, ax throwing, a music shop and a gorgeous home décor shop. At the end of the walking strip is the Alabama Walking Park. The park includes a play area for kids, a splash pad in the summer, and a walking path with exercise equipment along the way.
Within a fifteen minute drive is Little River Canyon National Preserve and De Soto State Park. Both of these are perfect places for hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing, bike riding and nature watching. A thirty minute drive will get you to Mentone, Alabama where you can eat at The Wildflower Cafe, which has been voted "The Best Café in Alabama and was featured in the book "The Southern Foodie: 100 Places to Eat in the South Before You Die".
