"Room was very clean. The hotel is simple, nothing overly complex. The check-in instructions are emailed ahead of time, easy to follow to get in. The floors do creak, but the building is old and it adds to the charm of the place. Sad that the cafe downstairs didn't make it - maybe one day someone will be able to get it going again! Would stay here again!"

"Just what you want. Cozy. Clean. Well maintained. Communication was great. It was spring when we stayed and they were planting flowers. You could tell they cared about the place. There’s a convenient restaurant and bar with local beers on tap, right at the front. "

"This place was unbelievable! Everything about it was perfect. It has everything you need, and you dont even have to look hard to find it in the home as the host has kindly labled where it all is. The decor is only outmatched by the surroundings. The nightsky is absolutely breathtaking, and it is so peaceful out even during the daytime. Everything you could possibly want to visit out there is no more than 30 or so minutes away, with most activities being less than a 10 minute drive. Our kids loved seeing all of the wildlife, and we were all so impressed with our beautiful mountain view. You can even clearly see the observatory from the house! The host is amazing at communicating, and even messaged us during our stay to let us know that the weather was going to perfect that night for viewing the stars. If we could give this place 10 stars we would. We will however have to settle on 5 and booking here again.Book this place NOW, you will NEVER regret it!"

"Three couples, long time friends, wanted to meet near Ft. Davis to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We loved that each bedroom had private baths and king size beds. The view from the back deck was delightful, as we could see Mitre Peak in the distance. As the three women had attended Mitre Peak Girl Scout Camp in our youth, it was rather magic to see Mitre from afar. It was awesome to view the sunrise & hear my husband singing “Morning Has Broken” as we arose for breakfast. From the porch, we could see McDonald Observatory (we had tickets for the star Party). We enjoyed our visit to the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center, across the highway from us. The kitchen has been updated and there is plenty of storage in the laundry room for all the extras you need to stash. We had two cars and an RV - plenty of parking. It was a perfect weekend!"
