"We had booked a king room at the hotel, but we were out in the national parks until 9 pm and arrived late to check in. The front desk kindly gave us the keys and shared some interesting information about the parks and places to visit. However, when we tried to enter our room, it wouldn’t open. They reissued the cards, but the doors remained locked. They even tried using master keys, but it still didn’t work. To our surprise, there was already an older couple occupying our room, and no one had been informed about this until we arrived. The same incident occurred to four other guests.
After this frustrating ordeal, they offered us a standard queen room in the last corner of the hotel as a compromise. It wasn’t until the next day that they finally took action to move us to a better room. We had to check out our rooms and leave our belongings at the hotel front desk. Despite being a Marriott Bonvoy member, this experience didn’t make any difference. They tried to rectify the situation, but I don’t think I’ll be returning to this hotel. There are other better options in Moab that don’t resort to such practices, such as giving out rooms to other guests and downgrading them to a cheaper option."
