"Nohga Hotel is a good place to stay in Kyoto. It’s near to some of the attractions. The bakery offers great food. Amenities of the hotel are excellent. The room is on the small side with the bathroom vanity on the hall no separate like normal hotel rooms. Not much space if you have a lot of stuff. Overall a good hotel focused on eco-friendly stuff. "

"Fantastic place to stay for my first time in Japan after being in Tokyo. This place receives forwarded luggage, staff are very helpful/kind, the property is easy to navigate, and the shuttle system was great. The shuttle was very helpful getting back and forth from the station. Also, they have a cell phone at the station to call for the shuttle so no need to worry if you don’t have a Japanese phone number. Would stay again and recommend it to foreigners wanting to have a Ryokan experience. Get the half board option because the food was amazing!"

"This is an absolutely wonderful hotel! We all greatly enjoyed our stay here. My students and I had such a good time❤️ The staff is wonderful. The breakfast was our favorite throughout all of our Japan travels. I brought my students on a spiritual pilgrimage to Japan and this hotel made everyone wonderful while we were in Kyoto⛩️ I'm getting ready to make another reservation to come back with my husband in a few days. "Such a beautiful area and amazing ryokan hotel. Staffs are so attentive, food was great. Also not as far from kyoto city as i thought. 30-40mins from taxi and bit more with the bus/ the bus station was just 10mins walk from the hotel. I would love to go back in autumn time. "

"I had a great experience. They made everything worry free. A shuttle from the train station. Being welcomed into the lounge to check-in in comfort. Being given a welcome drink. Then when the check-in is completed, being escorted to my room. Unheard of where I’m from. The room was exactly what I had hoped and more. The private bath on the patio was such a great treat. I was pretty dead after the last 2 weeks of being on the move and being surrounded by loud tourists. While a quick stay, this was exactly what I needed. The food. I need to make myself perfectly clear, all tasted great. I loved the experience. I will warn my picky NA eaters or people on the spectrum who struggle with textures. The kaiseki meal will likely be a struggle for you. I was fighting for my life XD. But I knew this going in and wanted to do it anyway. I’m very happy I did. My mantra, “They simply will not feed you something that tastes bad.” And they didn’t. I also asked for a drink recommendation and the plum wine and soda went crazy. So good. The staff were all awesome! I made train reservations while I was still in Kyoto and already had my tickets and couldn’t reschedule for reasons. But my train was leaving before the first morning shuttle. They had the shuttle make a special trip just for me nearly an hour early, which I was super appreciative of. All in all a fantastic place. I hope to return on my next trip, and take advantage of the other amenities. The spa looked really nice."

"Beautiful property with the pond and the garden. Hotel is impeccable clean, comfortable and polite everything you would expect from a luxury hotel. Next time we’re in Kyoto we will stay here again. Thank you ! "
