"A pleasantly surprising stay in the Saumur/ Doué-la-Fontaine area of the Loire. This property while modern is a gem, we benefited from a comfortable clean and pleasant family room, with a window opening up onto their rear garden area. Woke up to birdsong and quiet , and a great breakfast in their large conservatory. Service excellent and helpful. "Hotel is situated a little tucked away from the main area, but it’s a small town and easy to get around. We were not able to check in before 3pm, and were asked to ring the buzzer every time to be let in. It was a little confusing, but we managed. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and the bathroom was luxurious. We enjoyed our stay, but we also barely spent any time in it as there is so much to do around Saumur. Everything is within walking distance, even the train station (although...

Top Forges Hotel Reviews

Château Le Prieuré - La Maison Younan

10/10 Excellent

"The château is beautiful. The room was well appointed and the dinner and the chef are amazing. There are really beautiful scenes of the river and the surrounding area is so gorgeous."

Quality Aparthotel Saumur

8/10 Good

"Very strange. Nobody said that we would be literally staying in an old people's home!"

Hotel Kyriad Saumur

10/10 Excellent

"We had an excellent stay in one of the Luxe rooms. Very spacious, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast buffet was very good."

Fontevraud L'Ermitage

10/10 Excellent

"Wonderful stay in an historic location. Hotel team very helpful/friendly. Excellent food."

Les Terrasses de Saumur Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good

"Studio has everything you need for a self-sufficient stay. Loved eating outside on our private terrace. Is mostly renovated with a few dated fixtures. Good but firm bed."

Best Western Adagio

8/10 Good

"Good location (very close to the train station and downtown) and relatively quiet for being located on a major road at a major intersection. The building is nice, solidly constructed with spacious rooms and high ceilings. The room needs some updating in terms of decor and there are little touches that show a lack of very careful attention to maintenance (curtains that aren’t attached completely at the top of the window, dead mosquitoes on the sheer curtains). A little more careful attention to these details would go a long way to improving the first impression. That said, the room was spacious (a corner room -05) and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. All in all, I recommend this hotel and would stay again on another visit to the Saumur area."

Brit Hotel Saumur

10/10 Excellent

"Quick lady check in. Clean, comfortable room."

Loire & Sens

8/10 Good

"Large and clean rooms. Not all rooms have an AC. Problem with breakfast - we came at 9:15 and were told that the eggs run out. Pastries were cold and the variety is poor."

Mercure Bords De Loire Saumur

10/10 Excellent

"Great location. Privilege rooms worth extra cost - great views over river and Chateau . Parking v convenient. Nice bar and terrace . Didn’t have breakfast as v pricey - plenty of options in the town at half the price. Would return"
