"Room was comfortable even though I had the compact room. Totally adequate. .Toilet rim was a little dirty but likely a small miss by cleaning staff. Small shower stall but great shower! Very convenient location. Had parking which is a great feature given its very central location. Great bar too. Would stay again."

"The Guest house was good value with well stocked kitchen. My room was of a good condition and layout. The only issue I had was my shared bathroom was down one level requiring me to lick my room each time I used it. Overall great location, reasonable price, excellent staff."

"Really enjoyed our stay at The Grey Gull Hotel. The hotel is a little dated in places, but our room was clean and spacious with a nicely renovated bathroom. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, including with our dog. Food was tasty and reasonably priced too. Great value for money and we’d stay again."

"The hotel is very out dated, The rooms are small and are not well taken care of. I would not recommend staying here. The beds are very small, the rooms are old and the floors really need to be re-done. the bathrooms are just ok, Our room the shower leaked onto the floor and the floor boards we always wet and soft. "Perfect sized cottage for 2, with very comfortable bed, excellent hot water supply, well thought out kitchen and sitting room. The powerful shower is a bit too much for the slow drainage in the bathroom shower cubicle. This was the main problem we had (hence the one “4” rating”) but was not really a major issue. We appreciated the friendly welcome from Tayla, also the advice on walks around the estate and list of local eateries, although some of these are not fully operational at present. We liked the Smiddy in Lochgilphead one lunchtime and the cafe in the Ardfern village shop gave us excellent home made soup and sandwiches another day. The peaceful surroundings, nuts and fatballs provided to entice local birds (plus flapjacks for the visiting humans!) all made for a lovely week’s holiday base."

"Friendly, helpful staff. Short walk to Ferry terminal, train station and in the middle of a vibrant town center with good restaurants and shopping. Floors 3 and above have a great harbor view. Good breakfast buffet. "
