"I stayed alone due to attending an early running event the following morning. I was warmly greeted by the host upon arrival and immediately shown my room which was clean and comfortable. There was a chair, a TV and tea making facilities with an ensuite shower room. The bed was very comfortable and helped deliver a good sleep. Highly recommended, I'll happily return next time I'm in the area."

"The hotel looked lovely but unfortunately we didn't get to stay. Turned up to find hotels.com had not passed out booking into hotel so left with nowhere to stay in remote countryside. I'd recommend the eco lodge - staff were lovely but not hotels.com -it took almost a month to get a refund only by going via my bank's anti fraud process."

"We just got home from our stay at Lancaster Cottage and compelled to write a review as it was just lovely. In a beautiful location albeit we did not pick the best weather, Sarah could not have been a lovelier host. I had injured my shoulder and somehow got a chest infection before travelling and she made sure she kept my ice pack frozen for me. Nothing was too much trouble.
