Rest, relax and refresh at our newly renovated home located at 920 East Ashley (AKA “Sandy Bottoms”), where you can "get away from it all" and take everyone with you!

This is a spacious vacation home, which is a rare find at Folly. You can have the best of both worlds! This home offers ample space to accommodate large gatherings but is cozy enough for those who wish to capture some quiet time.

Our vacation home is only 200 steps to the beach and 9 short blocks to Center street.

Whether you prefer relaxing at the beach, surfing at "The Washout" (which is just five blocks away), or are drawn to the hustle and bustle of Center Street, at days end, you can retire to the peace and tranquility of your vacation oasis. Our home has a generously sized great room with a large flat-screen SMART TV, 5 ample sized bedrooms with new queen-sized memory foam mattresses with all new fresh bedding. Our home also has 4 full bathrooms.

Our lower level is a dedicated 1300 SQF game room, 50 inch SMART TV, Poker table, Ping pong table, Air hockey, Foosball and a Kitchenette with the 4th full bathroom on this floor.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate….no worries…you’ll still have fun hanging out on our updated, 700-square foot, fan cooled veranda. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine on one of the two wooden decks that overlook a beautifully landscaped yard. On-site parking areas provide convenient parking for at least 5 vehicles.

of their driver's license, as well as, the first and last names, and ages of ALL guests
staying in our home during the rental period.

Summer rentals are Saturday to Saturday only!

June 1 - November 30 is Hurricane Season. We do not offer weather related refunds.
If a state mandated evacuation of Folly Beach is ordered by the State of South
Carolina, we will be happy to reschedule your vacation.

Great Place

This was a wonderful place to stay for our large group of friends on Folly Beach. Close to the water, walking distance to downtown, and a nice clean and organized space. Great communication throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend if you have the opportunity to book this place not hesitate.

Family time

Our family came to Charleston for a wedding. We loved the location! It was close enough to restaurants to ride bikes and we didn’t have to deal with the crowds. The house was just a short walk to the beach and there also were not as many people there. The house worked great for the amount of people we had.

Stay at Sandy Bottoms

The house is as described. We were in the area for our daughter's wedding and enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and we had plenty of room for the 10 adults, 2 kids and a toddler that were there on and off during pur stay. It is very close to the beach and we had fun looking for shells and playing in the waves. The kids loved playing in the screened in porch. We would definitlely stay again!

Loved the location and house. Beds were comfortable and lots of room. Kitchen was well stocked. Ceiling fans in every room! Washer and dryer worked great! Extra fridge came in very handy! Would definitely stay there again!

Another great stay!

Sometimes it's worth going back to the same place. It'd been four years since I'd visited this house and my return trip was just as precious. The location is exceptional--quiet, a block off the steps to the beach, plenty of parking. I love that the game room is downstairs and not connected to the house; the young adults love it. The owners are responsive and kind. My daughter and her friends enjoyed the room to spread out and the ability to be together. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

Great place for a sports team

We were in Charleston for an early season track meet with our high school team and had the boys here and the girls in a separate house. The house was great for our group. The basement game area was particularly popular. It's not a fancy place and the layout is a bit unusual, but if you have a large group and looking for something casual but comfortable, this house will work well.

Playhouse was Family vacay Perfection

Our son was married on Folly Beach. The Playhouse was the perfect set up with many bedrooms and tons of common space including a lower level that was used for family games! The location was very close to the beautiful beach. We grilled out on the lower level and there was ample parking for our family. The host was very chill and easy to get a hold of. The home had a ton of space and was very clean. The location was PRIME for a beach vacay. Close to shops, restaurants and the beach. Well priced and I would definitely recommend for a family friendly trip to Folly.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sandy Bottoms! The rooms are spacious with comfortable seating and beds. Huge table for the 8 of us to enjoy meals together and play games. Very clean and in a quiet neighborhood. Super close to the beach too! Game room was a nice bonus for evening activities! Only suggestions for owner would be to change linens from microfiber to cotton for more breathable comfort, and to upgrade and provide more bath and hand towels. Owners were super nice and responsive. Overall would recommend, and we would stay here again without hesitation.

Amazing family vacation

We enjoyed everything about this home and its location! Easy quick walk to the beach. We rented a golf cart (highly recommend) for ventures into town or just cruising to the parks or around. Lots and lots of room in the home to either be close to family or spread out enjoying the many options of porches and outdoor sitting areas. The game room was an added bonus for all of us when we were taking a break from the beach or the lovely southern humidity:) The owners are very easy to communicate with and would highly recommend this place! Thanks for opening up your home and allowing my family to be together for a week.

Surprise 60th birthday

This house is perfect for a large gathering. The kitchen is supplied with all of your needs. We all sat at the large kitchen table like it was our own home. Bedrooms were nice a comfortable. All of our guests kept talking about how comfortable everything was. Easy walk to the beach and village. Thank you for letting us live in your home for the weekend. You will not regret renting this cottage!!!!

Overall it was a good place to stay. The AC went out on the first night but was fixed by the following morning. Beds are decent. Very well equipped house and lots of sleeping spaces and bathrooms. Location is fantastic! Didn’t care for the 72 cap on AC but we got it ok’d to turn it down at night. 72 is fine during the day but at night it was stuffy. It all worked out.

Sandy Bottom 3 day stay for 6-10 people.

Nice, well maintained property. Manager was accessible and capable. We had 10 and it was roomy enough for all get together on the porch, in the kitchen/dining area or in the living room at the same time. Beds were comfortable. Fun times in main living space. May have been the time of year, but the downstairs gaming area was not a magnet, a bit musty. Nice equipment, just too musty. Will stay again if similar circumstances bring us back. Thank you! Nice property!

The location was very good. The accomodations were fine for our group. The beds were just okay. Polyester sheets made sleeping difficult in the humid heat. Hosts should have upgraded (for a relatively small investment) to cotton. Communication with hosts was an unnecessary challenge. We concluded that they expected us to check VRBO regularly for communication instead of our regular email ??? Lower level was inconvenient for us.

Family wedding weekend

3 related families met on Folly Isl for family wedding. Perfect accomodations for all of us, from hanging out + visiting to getting ready for wedding when it was nice to have plenty of baths! Spacious, sunny house really is 200 steps from little-used area of beautiful beach and weather was spectacular, real bonus for end of Oct! Outside shower is wonderful for cleaning sand off people, chairs, toys. Lots of bedrms meant everyone had personal space, and there was plenty of community space, too. Big kitchen table for family meals + games, great screened porch for relaxed conversation, nice game area downstairs, altho we spent most time outside. Kitchen is well-equipped + 2 fridges are nice to hold beverages -- just like having a garage fridge at home. Easy parking, good location, great communication + activity suggestions from host. Our family is unanimous that we would definitely rent there again. 👍👍

Amazing place highly recommend for so many reasons

This home was absolutely perfect. It offered plenty of space, was beautifully maintained, and created the ideal setting for a memorable stay. From the moment we considered booking, the owners were responsive, helpful, and attentive providing peace of mind well before our arrival and continuing throughout our vacation.The location was unbeatable, with the beach literally just across the street. Even my elderly, disabled father was able to comfortably walk over and join us for beach time. The screened-in porch, complete with ceiling fans, allowed us to relax outdoors without worrying about bugs, and the spacious yard was perfect for lawn games and socializing without ever feeling crowded.Parking was another standout feature ample on-site space was especially appreciated. Inside, the large dining table served as a great hub for meals and family game nights. The bedrooms were generously sized, and most beds felt new and very comfortable. The multiple refrigerator/freezer units throughout the house were an unexpected and much-appreciated convenience. I also loved the thoughtful touches there was a wide selection of games for all age groups already at the house. And the outdoor shower made post-beach clean-up a breeze before heading indoors.I could go on about how ideal this home was for our family. It truly made for a perfect vacation, and the owners went out of their way to make sure we felt well every step of the way. A 10/10 experience. I highly recommended!

Great place for a group gathering.

The main house was spacious and clean. The linens were nicely prepared. The kitchen was well supplied with all we needed for the stay except the food and drinks of course. We didn’t really use the game room downstairs because it was dusty and air was stale and not directly connected to the main house. We had to go outside to entered the game room area. One thing though, perhaps since it was an early spring booking and the AC had not yet been maintained and serviced, the main AC system did not work well. Good thing the one in the master bedroom was working fine so I slept well. My friends had to endure the warm temperatures at night. We were out most of the day and we can cool ourselves with ice cold drinks in the evening. That reminded me, the ice maker in the fridge was also not working well.
