"We booked two rooms - one of which hadn't been cleaned on arrival but staff were very helpful and quick to sort an alternative room. Rooms are run down unfortunately and could do with some TLC in places. But the rooms are a really good size so as a large family across two rooms we didn't feel cramped. Car park is chargeable which doesn't guarantee you a space in there. We wne to out to find the car park very full despite having already paid so just something to be mindful of. Booked through Expedia - and Brittannia sent an online check in through Expedia messages. It originally said it failed, so did it again and I've now been charged double for one of the rooms. So would recommend just checking in at the hotel and not use their online form! "

"We stayed while at a wedding in town and the room was horrible, hole in the wall plastered over and not painted , flies in the room , when we opened the bathroom window it was to a fire escape covered in pigeon poo and the pigeons tried getting in the bathroom and they kept us awake all night as they were sat there 6 feet from where we were sleeping ."

"Continental breakfast was excellent, very good choice of meats,fresh fruits ,breads etc. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Staff were very helpful and informative of the local area and restaurants. Situated just off lord street and within 5 mins of the promenade and around a ten minute walk to the train station. Off street parking available outside the hotel. Would definitely stay again at this hotel if revisiting southport. Ocerall a very nice 5 day stay "

"Stayed at the bold hotel many times in the past After this stay it does need some work and renovation. The old place is looking tired and old. Stain on the ceiling in our room carpeting one furniture, outdated, and exterior needs repair and painting."
