Bert's Retreat in Judge Jones Historic Home #2

Experience Flagstaff like never before in our beautifully restored and spacious downtown apartment. Enjoy modern amenities, a cozy fireplace, and stunning mountain views from your deluxe bedroom. Walk to local attractions or relax on the expansive porch. Your urban oasis awaits!

Welcome to our spacious and beautifully restored vacation rental in Flagstaff! This exceptional split home boasts the largest apartment, meticulously refurbished to blend modern comfort with historical charm. From the custom cabinetry adorned with original glass doors in the kitchen to the contemporary floor-to-ceiling rock fireplace, every detail exudes elegance and functionality.

Guests can enter the apartment through a private entrance on the porch or from the main hallway. The kitchen is equipped with brand-new appliances, including a range, fridge, dishwasher, a charming farmhouse sink, microwave, and a Keurig coffeemaker. In the bedroom, you'll find a luxurious new deluxe foam mattress bed offering breathtaking views of the peaks and starlit skies through the meticulously restored original windows.

In the separate living room, a modern sofa, comfortable chairs, and a coffee table. The living area's focal point is the captivating fireplace, surrounded by large, beautiful windows.

Entertainment options are abundant with a smart TV offering WiFi access and an antenna for local channels, providing a wide range of viewing choices.

Nestled within a serene half-acre compound, this downtown oasis consists of seven individual rental units. You can relish the tranquility of this retreat or take a leisurely stroll a few blocks to immerse yourself in the vibrant heart of Flagstaff. The nearby Lowell Observatory, perched atop a hill, shares a historic connection with the judge who originally constructed these homes in the early 1900s.

Within a five-minute walk, Thorpe Park offers recreational amenities like a playground, tennis courts, and frisbee golf. Additionally, the Flagstaff Public Library is just a block away.

One of the cherished features of these historic homes is the expansive porch areas that gracefully wrap around the front and sides of the house. During the summer months, these spaces become favored hangouts for guests and their friends. The expansive half-acre property welcomes guests to enjoy its well-maintained yard. Ample off-street parking next to the house, mandatory for winter overnight stays, ensures convenience. Street parking is also readily available in front of and around the house.

Please note that across from the library, on Sundays throughout the summer into early fall, you won't want to miss the farmers market, offering delightful baked goods and fresh produce!

Your apartment, the front porch and back yard

Our historic home has many great modern features but heating and cooling are not one of them. We do have a great radiant heating system in the winter along with extra portable units. In the hotter summer months, we can supply window or portable air conditioning systems plus fans to keep you comfortable.

Exactly what we wanted
Just like advertised - very clean and cute but roomy place, perfect location to walk to downtown. We had the downstairs and it's historic so I could hear some noise from upstairs but it was expected and I'm not sensitive to. Loved the personality of the place, the porch, cute kitchen, comfy bed. Would stay again.

Flagstaff Stay
We enjoyed our stay, a large part was because the apartment was so great! Very clean and had everything we needed. The temperature's was perfect, so often the heat in places can be spotty or too hot. The bed was so comfortable , I slept in most days! Definitely recommend this place!

Adorable apartment, super cozy and with so many extras! We had everything we needed- coffee, tableware, extra blankets, smart tv etc. The house is charming and has very accessible parking. The communication with the host exceeded my expectations. We are already planning to make this our go-to for all future trips to Flagstaff!

Family Time in Flagstaff
We had a great stay at the Judge Jones house. It was perfect for us and our family. We rented one apartment on the first floor, and our nephew and his girlfriend rented another one on the second floor. Our apartment was wonderful. It had a nice size living room, a huge kitchen, and a nice size bedroom. The place easily and comfortably accommodated seven adults for family dinners and other gatherings. It's a very interesting space. The original home dates back to 1915, and although it is completely updated and very nicely appointed, it still has some classic architectural features, which gives the place charm. Also, the location cannot be beat. It is only a few blocks from downtown in one direction and a beautiful park in the other direction. Finally, the host is very responsive and communicates well. When we communicated with him or his property management team, they got back to us immediately, and they were always helpful.

Flagstaff historic home
This was one of our favorite rentals yet! This historic home (apartment) was perfect in every detail. Everything we needed was here in the well equipped kitchen, along with comfortable and stylish bed and bathroom linens, etc. It was spotlessly clean as well! We loved the historic charm of this beautifully renovated place. We will be back!

Excellent location
This is a beautiful older home that has been renovated and is located in walking distance from downtown Flagstaff and the weekly Sunday outdoor market scene! My husband and I loved sitting on the porch to enjoy the fresh air!

Excellent location
This is a cute 1-bedroom apartment in downtown Flagstaff, within walking distance of the public library and two of Flagstaff's prime attractions, the Lowell Observatory and the Riordan Mansion State Historic Park. (At least I walked to them, since the week I was there was just before NAU started up for the fall semester and traffic was horrendous.) Check-in was seamless, the TV worked well and the apartment was clean and cozy. Recommended for an enjoyable stay.

Escape to a cool place.
We returned for a stop on our way to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I had left a shirt behind on our last month’s visit and it was hanging up waiting for me. Perfect! Mahalo, Dan.
