Volcano Huts Þórsmörk - Highlands

"This was a lovely place to stay! We came in from the Laugavegur trail and for similar money it was a nice upgrade compared the huts we had stayed in prior (though those were quite good as well). The staff was very helpful, the facilities were great, and the location was lovely. If you’re not hiking in you definitely need to take a bus here! It’s not cheap but it’s really necessary unless you’ve got a serious off-road vehicle."

"This was such an amazing place to stay for a few evenings. So comfortable and clean and delightful. Karl & Jóna were very welcoming and accommodating and even left me a few eggs for my first night which was a lifesaver in the morning. I was very thankful and impressed with their driving instructions to the property which made it very easy to navigate to after a long day traveling. You really couldn’t find a nicer place to stay for a more affordable price. Would definitely stay again and hope to. My only regret is not getting a chance to visit Landmannalaugar which is a manageable drive from the property. Can’t recommend Karl and Jóna’s place enough!"

"The full beds comfortably fit 2 people and had a curtain. The room also had a curtain over the window, which made it pretty dark, although some light leaked through, so bring an eye mask if you are sensitive. Other travelers were also very polite and sensitive, though people were constantly coming and going, so there was a bit of noise until quite late. It is quite a crowded place, so there was not always a bathroom or shower available during peak hours, but otherwise, it was what we needed on our way east from Reykjavik."

"Such a unique stay! We enjoyed our time here. We stayed in the family cabin and it's a bit tight for 4 people but made it work. This place would be stunning during the northern lights. It's remote and quiet and exactly what we wanted."

"This was a very cute place. The windows were big and the area had a beautiful view of mountains. It is not too far from Hella. The bed was comfy. It was nice to have a TV as well. I would recommend and would stay again."
