"Air conditioning didnt work. With the AC on it was still warmer in our room than outside. Door stuck a lot and the bathroom door did not close. There was remnants of someones candy bar in the chair in our room and the pool was closed during our stay. Area was not well lighted. "

"Daily housekeeping did not happen. Had to set garbage outside to be taken away and had to ask for towels daily"

"My family spent three fantastic nights at Clayton's place, and love it. It was a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the Outer Banks. The great room is nice an big, light colors and lots to sunshine coming in through the sliding doors. The deck was plenty wide for watching sunsets, lounging and watching the stars (we brought our telescope). You can see the sound from the deck. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfy, modern and ready for us when we arrived. We especially loved the hot tub and sofa area under the house. It was private, but still let in sunshine and the breeze. The outdoor projector and screen is such a great bonus.Clayton is so great, and was incredibly responsive to every question we had. Location-wise, this was ideal for us. Just a few minutes to Jockey's Ridge area, restaurants and shopping in one direction; yet we could get to Coquina Beach out in South Nags Head in less than 15 minutes. Super trip!"

"Perfect hotel. Beach access, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor pools. Breakfast was amazing each morning, the hotel rooms were clean."

"Location was perfect only 50 yards to the beach among alot of other public access locations. Close to many great restaurants. This flat top house was clean and super cute! We really enjoyed our stay."

"I would say as a whole the place was very nice. Our toilet would run and run and run and never shut up. As well, they could use hooks for towels in the route in the bathrooms. As well, they should have hangers and extra blankets if needed."

"I cant in good faith give 5 stars for a motel that is severely dated however...I will say this place is "clean" on the inside, the grounds need some love. (Theynare currently doing renovations snd I am excited to return to see the updates). This little gem is hands down the best little hole in the wall motel that is ON THE BEACH and allows fur babies. Check in was a breeze and I love how connected they are to their history. They have coffee cups for every year the motel has been open - since 1948!! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We look forward to visiting again very soon!"

"My stay was OK. The front desk staff was not welcoming at all. I felt like walking out. The hotel needed lots of updating. Breakfast and access to the beach was on the 2nd floor, which was different. I would not go back. "
