"We had a lovely week at Beachcomber Cottage. Nice and spacious with everything we needed. Plenty of plates, cutlery etc and things to cook with. Liked the fact there were parking spaces right next to the house. Welcome pack was a nice touch. Location of the house on the estate is good, not far to pool, playground and pub. "

"We booked in for one night as we were visiting Filey for a family event. It was a short drive from Filey to the B&B. The place itself is set on the street in the town near some pubs and local shop etc. which is convenient as there is no lunch/dinner service. Parking is on street and we were able to park right outside without any problem. We had a very friendly check in, we did the online check in before arriving so it was all super easy. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was a family room which was quite remarkably spacious. The photos on the listing make it look quite square but its a long room with the single bed at one end separated from the double bed by an area with a sofa, TV etc which also has a small desk/dressing table. So theres plenty of space. There is a decent sized shower room as well. I was a little concerned that the room we had was ground floor and faced right onto the street, but the area is quiet and the double glazing very efficient so we were not bothered by noise from the street at all. As an older "heritage" type building there is some internal noise so you can hear other guests in the adjoining rooms a bit. There is an "honesty bar" which has a small selection of canned beers, cider, softs and bottles of wine. This is very reasonably priced. We had breakfast on the morning of departure, I had a very nice English breakfast and this was filling enough to see me through to tea time! Continental type breakfast is also offered. "

"Poor signage makes it difficult to find correct property. Kitchenware dirty and had to wash it before we could eat or drink. dishwasher and fridge broken, bathroom floor dirty and toilet full of limescale. rooms starting to look shabby. bed and settee comfortable grounds tidy and handy for beach."

"The property is super clean and equipped with everything you could need. Although on the small side it had everything we wanted/needed and we would definitely visit again. We stayed for 4 nights and that was long enough as it is on the small side so lounging around all day isn't ideal at this property but given the area/location why anyone would want to do that is beyond me anyway. In terms of location within the actual site it couldn't have been more conveniently placed - literally a minute walk from the Gym/Pool/Tennis Courts and another minute or two and there was the John Paul Jones Pub and onsite Shop/Pharmacy. For the price we paid during the School Summer holidays we really weren't being ripped off like some do. We needed to contact the owner (Lucy) on one occasion re: the wifi connection and she answered straight away and explained where we were going wrong. She also messaged again to make sure nothing else was a problem and she couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks again Lucy and we would definitely recommend a stay at this property for anyone looking for a week or few days away with a 'small' family."
