Apollonia (Ancient Greek: Ἀπολλωνία κατ᾿ Ἐπίδαμνον or Ἀπολλωνία πρὸς Ἐπίδαμνον, Apollonia kat' Epidamnon or Apollonia pros Epidamnon) was an ancient Greek city in Illyria,[1] located on the right bank of the Aous river (modern-day Vjosë). Its ruins are situated in the Fier region, near the village of Pojani, in modern-day Albania. Apollonia was founded in 588 BCE by Greek colonists from Corfu and Corinth,[2] on a site initially occupied by Illyrian tribes[3] and was perhaps the most important of the several classical towns known as Apollonia. Apollonia flourished in the Roman period and was home to a renowned school of philosophy, but began to decline in the 3rd century AD when its harbor started silting up as a result of an earthquake. It was abandoned by the end of Late Antiquity.

"Great hotel based on the top 2 floors of an apartment block, finding it was difficult in the small back streets but parking was available. No 24hr reception and nobody on the desk at 8am when we checked out."

"Our stay at Comfort Hotel couldnt have been better. The staff were amazing, especially the headmistress. While on the outside you wouldnt know it, the inside was full marble and beautiful. We paid 5 euro a person to have breakfast included every morning, which was great. Standand balkan breakfast with hood options and fresh food. We really liked that this area wasnt very touristy when we went(in august). It felt very home-y and like we were one of the locals. "

"This is an excellent hotel. Very comfortable. The level of cleanliness was beyond anything that I have seen. It looked brand new. Breakfast was excellent too. A variety of fresh food with fresh fruits and vegetables too. Convenient location with stores and restaurants close by. Helpful staff. Very safe Area. Improvement: This is typical for Europe, but the open shower soaks the bathroom floor. The music being played by one of the restaurants or people was very loud on Saturday night. "

"Adorable Hotel in Vlores’s City Center. Conveniently located.! Staff were friendly, professional and accommodating. Room was comfortable, pillows were awful. I just don’t understand the expectations of showering in those small showers with the tiny glass partition and having to step out to a completely drenched bathroom floor. And if you have a big butt it won’t fit on the toilet that is jammed up against the shower glass partition."
