Apollonia (Ancient Greek: Ἀπολλωνία κατ᾿ Ἐπίδαμνον or Ἀπολλωνία πρὸς Ἐπίδαμνον, Apollonia kat' Epidamnon or Apollonia pros Epidamnon) was an ancient Greek city in Illyria,[1] located on the right bank of the Aous river (modern-day Vjosë). Its ruins are situated in the Fier region, near the village of Pojani, in modern-day Albania. Apollonia was founded in 588 BCE by Greek colonists from Corfu and Corinth,[2] on a site initially occupied by Illyrian tribes[3] and was perhaps the most important of the several classical towns known as Apollonia. Apollonia flourished in the Roman period and was home to a renowned school of philosophy, but began to decline in the 3rd century AD when its harbor started silting up as a result of an earthquake. It was abandoned by the end of Late Antiquity.

"We really enjoyed staying in this apartment. The locations was perfect as it was just a short walk to the seafront as well as many cafes, bars & restaurants. The apartment itself was just as nice as the pictures, was very clean and with every addition we needed. The hot tub was perfect for winding down at the end of the day. Thanks for having us. We had an amazing time"

"Great location with a nice view. Good accommodations, clean. Only complaint was no AC unit in bedroom so had to sleep with balcony door open and then it was noisy. And needed a garbage can in the kitchen and some kitchen towels."

"It was such a Historical and nostalgic building In the heart of old town with an excellent location and friendly staff. They made my day with their friendship during my holiday! Moreover in the morning they serve great breakfast , highly recomended!"

Excellent stay

"Lovely comfortable hotel at the end of the promenade near the harbour. I loved the location as it was only a few minutes to the main hustle & bustle of the promenade but at the quiet end so we had peace & quiet. Large comfortable modern room - bed was so soft and had the best night sleep here when travelling around Albania. Shower was great - great quality & lovely soft linen/bedding/towels - large balcony. Although not too much storage/drawers if staying longer. Staff were very nice & friendly. Great breakfast choice. I would 100% stay here again when I return to Vlore. 4 small things missing for me as a Irish/UK traveller - hanging hooks in the room&bathroom for bags/clothes, a long mirror, kettle/tea/coffee and a safe/safety box to store passport & money (as a reassurance no matter where I travel) "
