"I was advised by staff at the Cottonwood Boutique Hotel that their sister hotel, the Ocean View Hotel was closed due to maintenance. So I can not give you feedback for that stay. However, I was given a room at the Cottonwood Boutique Hotel instead. Normally when I stay at the Cottonwood Hotel it is for a break and I always book the ocean view room. 4/10 Poor

"Rooms was clean staff were nice didn’t have breakfast chose to eat in town many nice restaurant’s to choose from the walls are very thin so could here all the doors banging as there are springs loaded hear everyone in the other room next to us and below talking shouting there was no shower just a hose round the taps which leaked the staff were nice but didn’t seem enough there as the place was so big the beer was horrendous couldn’t drink it tasted like the cleaning stuff they use to clean the glasses I probably wouldn’t say again and if your a light sleeper or enjoy a good nights sleep defo wouldn’t recommend for you it’s about a 15 min walk into town through 2 under passes the town is nice and walk through that to gardens which is nice then to the beach we were told that when there are coach trips there is entertainment on there is a lot of coaches parked on the carpark but we didn’t have any trouble parking hope this helps"

"Excellent location with a seafront view and within walking distance of the town centre. The staff were extremely helpful — even though we arrived at midnight, they still did their best to help us find a parking space and guide us to our room. Very impressive service! The elegant décor reflects Marriott’s quality and standards beautifully. Thank you — we will definitely come back if we travel to Bournemouth again."

"Wasn’t too impressed for a one night stay. When we arrived we were informed it’s £5 per person to use the pool / leisure area!!! This was not mentioned anywhere, I think advertising there’s a pool then charging guests when they arrive is ridiculous. Me and my partner are young and fairly healthy and we struggled with the commute to our room. No lifts, only to certain rooms. The room itself was ok, not suitable for the heat. There was an air conditioner but it didn’t work too well. The television remote was missing so we couldn’t even use it! The lounge area, bar and restaurant were lovely. The staff were nothing but helpful and kind so big thanks to them. The garden was also a really nice place to chill out. I’d say booking a smaller cheaper room isn’t worth it, if you have the money to splurge on a more deluxe room it may make the stay more worthwhile. Great location for the beach, food and gardens."

"We’ve had bad experiences before with twin beds pushed together instead of a proper double bed, so this was especially disappointing. We came to celebrate our 21st anniversary and were allocated two single beds joined together. During the night the beds separated, leaving a gap in the middle, and we were both woken up after falling into it. We both struggled to sleep and ended up with back pain the next morning. We informed the manager in the morning. She apologised and offered Prosecco, which we appreciated, but unfortunately it didn’t really make up for the discomfort and disruption to what was meant to be a special anniversary celebration. We left feeling very disappointed."

"Clean room, sky bar has closed which we didn’t realise ( our fault for not checking ) Breakfast was a disaster, hotel couldn’t cope with the number of people, ran out of fruit and other breakfast items, food items that were there were poor ….. terrible orange juice ….. we gave up and ate breakfast outside the hotel. Staff were helpful and apologetic, but for a major chain that charges premium rates for its rooms the planning was clearly very poor. We wouldn’t stay again."

"From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and helpful. The Rufus Suite was beautiful and spacious. The breakfast was delicious. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish. The hotel is clearly well looked after and is in a perfect spot for days out in the New Forest and Southampton. We will definitely return."
