"It's true it is a bit dated if that worries you, certainly didn't worry me, perfectly functional very clean, the only thing that bugged me was the Ruddy lift, second floor going down aagh first floor going up that voice done my head in I'm joking of course great location loads of parking, great staff, I'd stay here again."

"This was the perfect place to call home for the week we stayed and explored Yorkshire. Excellent food, perfect location, cozy. The staff were lovely. AND, it was Alf Wight’s (James Herriott’s) favorite spot in Thirsk. We couldn ’t have liked it better!"

"The hotel is in the centre of Boroughbridge. We found the stag so helpful and friendly. Really lovely and welcoming. The rooms are nice however the bathroom needs a full refurb. Breakfast was good."
