Charming Cottage Two Blocks from Downtown

"Our family recently enjoyed wonderful weekend at JoEllen's great Back Pond Cottage. We especially appreciate the great room where the ten of us can all gather in the evenings for dinner, games and reliving the adventures of the day. Other desirable features are the walk-to-town location, the thoughtfully equipped kitchen, and the deck and backyard spaces. The flowers and outdoor decor made us feel welcomed as guests. We are already looking forward to our next visit."

"Nice stay in a small town. We had our dog, so that was one of the factors driving the hotel choice. The staff was nice, breakfast was good. We ended up leaving later in the evening before morning checkout because we wanted to get home earlier. The front desk lady was genuinely concerned about why we wanted to leave (in case there was an issue). I assured her there wasn't any other issue other than wanted to get home early. I thought that was a nice concern."

The Perfect Green Lake Family Getaway

"This is a lovely large lake home with bedrooms and bathrooms on both the first and second floor. The kitchen is well equipped. I let the owner know that more good knives are needed for proper meal prep. Some of the older frying pans also need to be updated but other than that the kitchen is truly well stocked, large, and well lit with a wonderful island. The high top table in the kitchen seats eight or 10 and there is also a dining room table. The large living room seating area is very comfortable and the Adirondack chairs on the deck make for good viewing of sunsets. We can’t thank Tammy (caretaker) enough for getting the hot tub ready but also especially for building a perfect fire in the pit for us to do s’mores. Such a treat. We planned the stay for the annual Golden days festival in Green Lake. We all had a blast attending so many of the events, including the bed races, the polka, the car show, bingo, as well as enjoying the food and entertainment in the many booths. The small town really goes all out. The location of this VRBO home couldn’t be more perfect because we could all just walk to every event we wanted to see. It made it convenient to come and go several times a day. We didn’t use either the pool or swim in the lake from the dock so I can’t comment on those activities, but for just hanging out at the house or the convenience of relating to the town itself, this rental is perfect."

"Charming, clean min-mansion on the lake that is perfect for large family gatherings. Although the weather didn't cooperate, our family had a great time utilizing the large house, private bedrooms with their own ensuite to make the best of it. The large dining room made for a perfect place for board games and the large family room was perfect for Switch, college football and charades. There are several nice restaurants in town and walking distance to Norton's. Matt was very responsive to every question and offered assistance with any issue we might have, but everything went well. Past Labor Day, the town slows down which could work for adults only but the weather can be unpredictable."

"Great location and lots of 'extras' with the property from stocked necessities to fun water toys and other various games and activities. It was apparent that the owners put a lot of thought into ensuring everything that may be needed was available. The owners need to talk to the cleaning and maintenance team as we found several issues that should have been addressed before we arrived at the property."
