"I stayed here because I was dropping my son off at GWU and it was an incredibly convenient location to walk to his dorm (Thurston Hall). My room was VERY spacious and clean. They leave plenty of water bottles in the room and there was a bag of ice in the freezer as well. There was more than enough space for all my stuff. The bed was very comfortable. I had a full separate kitchen that was a lovely addition. The staff at the front was friendly. That being said, here is where improvement is needed:
1. The place is VERY dated. My room made me feel like I was in 1993 with decor. The kitchen was even older!
2. While I loved the "dressing area" outside of the bathroom, I feel that the space would have been better utilized as a larger bathroom with 2 sinks instead of one.
3. I don't like hotel bathrooms with shower curtains.
4. Cleaning service refused to clean unless I left room, which I did not. Asked her to come back in "5 minutes" and she said that's not possible.
5. The "doormen" give lazy vibes and aren't always at the ready to open the door.
6. The TV was too small and old for a room that size.
7. Not enough outlets behind bed to plug things in. I had to unplug the clock to plug something else in.
8. The dated restaurant felt like I was eating in someone's basement. It felt as if only one person worked there and the food was just ok. I had a yogurt with granola and berries. They only had ONE type of yogurt and it was plain flavored. My son had eggs, bacon and potatoes."
