Shoreline of Loch Snizort Beag The shadows are still long approaching midday in midwinter. The salt water of the loch was carrying small floes heading north with the ebbing tide.

Frozen sea at the mouth of Loch Eyre Just at the mouth of Loch Eyre where it joins Loch Snizort Beag, thin sheets of ice pile up on the shore as the tide flows out of the loch.
Dun Eyre There is not a lot of the structure of the dun left to be seen, though there is no doubting the remains. It sat on top of this eminence, about 150m above Loch Eyre. The eminence itself is about 5m above the surrounding land. This view is looking up to the site with a double row of boulders marking the approach to the fort.
