Serene 2-bedroom house in beautiful Gustavus perfect for relaxing getaway
8/10 Good
"This place is beautiful! Whoever decorated-knows what they are doing! We absolutely loved the look and it felt good to feel at home. When we arrived we wandered how we were going to get around town (we could not connect with a taxi driver). The host graciously provided four bikes! What a treat to drive to the end of the road and go along the beach. BEAUTIFUL! So glad that we had bikes to ride. The water in the house however was an issue. It smelled like sulfur. When I took a shower the whole kitchen area smelled as if I had boiled eggs. We were able to walk to the grocery store and by drinking water. The host does have a drinking water bubbler, however, it tasted as if there was chlorine in it. With all that being said, we would still stay here again for it is absolutely beautiful and comfortable."

Alaska Forest Hideaway, Freshly Remodeled, Hot Tub, King Beds, 4 Bed/2.5Bath
10/10 Excellent
"This home is a GEM of a property.. it is truly special! Rarely does one find a home as comfortable and well-outfitted as this. The first thing that amazed us was the cleanliness of the home. There wasn't a speck of dust in the entire house, and everything was extremely tidy. The owners have posted a sign to remove shoes before going up the carpeted stairs to a fully carpeted second floor. The carpet looked brand new, so we wanted to help the owners maintain it. Plus, doing this kept the second floor looking just as sharp on day 7 as it did on day 1! This is also THE HOUSE to stay in if you are planning to do your own cooking. Almost any kitchen utensil or gadget you can think of can be found in this fully stocked kitchen! There was an assortment of coffee and tea in addition to a few snacks to make our stay more enjoyable. We did not use the hot tub or fire pit area, but we checked them out, and they were also immaculate. Last but certainly not least, we were thrilled to find the strong WIFI signal was present regardless of your location within the home. Also, the main living room/den has the most amazing leather sofa with built-in USB charging outlets, and every seat reclines! The television in that room also has AppleTV with just about every app you can possibly want. We had a few questions during our stay, and the owners were lightning fast to reply. We will be back, and we will be heartbroken if we can't stay in this incredible home. We LOVED every moment!"
Organic-mod mid-century A-frame gem in pristine coastal forest setting
10/10 Excellent
"A great and cozy little cabin in the woods, about 15-20 minutes from the airport, easy access. If you want a nice quiet peaceful place to stay, this is it. I didn’t bring kids but they would have loved it. Pick berries out the back porch, the cabin had everything we needed, close to some trails and such. I would love to come back and stay again, it was perfect for us 2, but could easily have had 4, and could bunk kids upstairs also. Host was available if needed, responding immediately to any inquiries, although we really didn’t need anything. It’s actually cuter in person than the pics represented, real neat place. Thank you!"
Juneau Vacation Home: Stunning View + Beach Access
8/10 Good
"Our family had a wonderful week at this Lena Cove home. The location was perfect—just far enough from downtown Juneau to escape the crowds and catch extra sunshine. The main living area offers sweeping waterfront views; we watched eagles soar, salmon jump, otters playing, and spotted a black-tail deer. We tried fishing from the rocky shoreline, but the salmon ignored our lures (the rocky bottom loved them!). The lush grounds and the welcome bouquet of wildflowers on the porch were lovely touches.Inside, the home was exceptionally comfortable. The beds feature perfect linens, and our teenage son loved having his own space to spread out in the loft. The shower water stayed hot through four back-to-back users, and the tap water tasted as great as bottled.A few quick suggestions for the hosts to elevate the stay:Linens: The towels are great quality, but providing only five bath towels for four guests for a week required a lot of laundry. A few extra sets, along with more dishcloths/kitchen towels, would be helpful.Kitchen: Adding basic staples (tinfoil, plastic wrap, Ziplocs) would be great. Simple drawer organizers and a few bins in the pantry to organize leftover guest food would also make the space much more user-friendly.We would absolutely stay here again!"
