I enjoyed my stay and especially loved the mountain view from my window. Even though there was a road nearby, it wasn't noisy. The staff were accommodating, and the breakfast was a highlight. While the room cleaning every three days suited us just fine, the hotel itself feels a bit old-fashioned. The sound insulation could be improved, as the doors rattled when people moved in the hallway. Also, keep in mind that rooms lack a kettle and a fridge.

Years ago when we lived in Ettlingen I admired the historic hotel Watthalden property and we had a very happy stay there this summer. The hotel is nicely decorated, the suites are spacious with kitchenette facilities, we found the breakfast buffet to be excellent, and the surrounding area by the Alb River is beautiful and serene. We were just a short walk to town with its wonderful dining, parks and shopping. Short walk to the train for Karlsruhe and beyond. Lovely stay!

Excellent room, very friendly but parking was questionable. 1st night ok but 2nd night we had to pay for parking as we had to park underneath as the carpark was full. But some of the carpark was taken up by the restaurant next door also. Also the hotel restaurant is closed on Sundays & Mondays.
