"Excellent service and hospitality in a wonderful old castle on top of the hill. The city square offered the best pizza-place and evening entertainment in the square with cover band playing ABBA-hits. We will definitely come back and visit again!"

"Unforgettable stay in a fabulous, historic setting. We were celebrating a special birthday with friends and couldn’t have found a more perfect, relaxed setting in which to enjoy the occasion.The apartments and grounds provide ample space for a large party with a backdrop of the Tuscan countryside and view of the Appian Alps. The hosts are kind and considerate, and the meal we had catered by the staff was lovely. Every day was an adventure walking in nature, by lakes, forests, swimming or hanging out around the pool."
"Wow. It was even better than we imagined and hoped for. The location of the Mill is unparalleled - from the winding lane that gets you there, to the mountain stream and the charming rope bridge across it. The Mill itself is ancient and has been sensitively updated to ensure that you have all the facilities you need without losing the sense of history. The pizza oven and outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying fabulous food in the dappled shade. Try the restaurant in Sillico too - the terrace looks out over mountains to the sunset! "

"The cottage is wonderful for getting away from it all. Comfy bed, wifi, brilliant host, a varied selection of wildlife and animals! The location is really off the beaten track, the last road to the parking is very narrow with tight bends. We walked down the ancient path to the medieval bridge a couple of times, steep but great views. Very peaceful place, thoroughly recommended."

"The location was perfect. We fell in love with Castiglione de Garfagnana and the view from our accommodation was spectacular. We also loved the sounds of the church and cow bells!
The accommodation was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed daily walks to the village for morning cappuccini and exploring the local villages and countryside by car.
The train station in Castelnuovo made it convenient for day trips to Lucca and Florence.
The notes provided by Friends of Tuscany were really helpful.
The host family was extremely responsive and hospitable.
We would love to return!"

"The small house is in a secluded spot with fantastic views of Castiglione and the mountains, both from the terrace as well as the bedroom. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were a really nice addition. The owners welcomed us with traditional food and wine, which was very unexpected but very welcome when we arrived in the late afternoon. They also provided us with a lot of recommendations regarding both restaurants and fun things to do in the area. We highly recommend the house and plan to be back. "
