The Paiva Walkway is a unique place to visit. Engineering in harmony with nature. You can enter the trail both ends, it will cost you only a 1€ and you can book your ticket via their website. Just search in Google for Passadiços de Paiva.

It is 8.7km long trail and most of the times you will walk on wooden walkway as you can see on the picture. Keep in mind that there are 450 steps upwards and 300 downwards included too 😎

"The owners of the place are fantastic, warm people, they welcomed us as family, despite the language problems :-) The flat is very clean, very spacious and perfectly equipped. The decoration, furniture and equipment is a bit old-school and used already, but still it is a great value for the price. We loved the garden, with small pool. Car is a must there. The way to Porto is very straight forward and takes about 20 minutes, same for the nearest beach. We highly recommend this place!"

"This is by far the best property I've ever booked through Expedia. The house sits on the edge of a beautiful working farm, across an ancient Roman bridge. A lovely ten-minute walk into town, you cross another bridge that offers a spectacular view the river. The owners live nearby and are the most hospitable and generous hosts imaginable, sharing fresh produce from their farm and knowledge of the area."

"Breakfast was a bit shambolic. Scrambled egg, bacon, mushrooms and sausage for a cooked option is lacking somewhat. Even with such little hot selection it was rarely replenished meaning a wait. When the hotel is full, they'll never cope with thr size of the kitchen and the restaurant. That was the only disappointing thinking. Other than that, a faultless stay. "

We stayed in beautiful hotels in Portugal--this one is far/away the finest.
