"The company managing the property only seemed interested in telling us about their requirement to make an arrangement to cover breakages at the property during our stay. We could either pay an insurance fee or a deposit which would be returned minus an administration fee 14 days after we vacated the property - why 14 days? There was no clear information about this requirement until after the booking was made, by which time we could not cancel. We assumed that due to the operation of a scheme...

"a reasonable property that is very well located for all amenities in this lovely town. the couch was a little low to the ground for us as we have problems with our knees ( old age catching up ) and carrying the luggage up the stairs made me breathless ( my fault as I should have checked this before booking ), but the flat was comfortable and we had an excellent time. Many thanks to Victoria for the prompt way she communicated with us when we had a small problem to resolve."

"Nicely done out. A couple of issues in terms of equipment - only one mug so we had to go out and buy one the following day. Also no potato peeler, cafetière (coffee machine needed capsules which are more expensive to buy). The outdoor area could have been made more attractive. The alley at the back was full of rubbish. We did receive quick feedback to our concerns about the mug and the lockpad being left on the code. "

"Lovely, beautiful little old fashioned lodge for self-catering tucked away behind thick gardens abutted to a lovely old building on the outskirts of Alnwick. Its self-catering and had everything we needed, including good TV choice for the evenings and a strong wi-fi (in the lounge but not in kitchen). We just felt so at ease and relaxed in the evenings there. It may not be for everybody, say for example, those that like things to look modern. But for us with an eye to more homely back-in-the-day...
