Very close to two major towns (Pau and Bayonne) as well as multiple charming villages, it makes for an ideal location for exploring the foothills of Pyrénées. The owners, Shona and Ken, are very friendly and accommodating people, truly interested in the comfort of their guests. We strongly recommend the gîte, and hope to return there again soon."

"The house and grounds so beautifully curated and maintained by the owner Thierry is an absolute joy to stay in. Wildlife abounds - deer appearing in the field, butterflies, birds of prey, geckos and the star of the show the midwife toad whose sonar like call will astonish! Monein is good for provisions but you may need to travel further afield for more entertainment. "The property was spacious and the kitchen very well equipped with new, high spec appliances and loads of pots, pans, gadgets and crockery. Living and dining area was good for up to 8 adults max. Bedrooms in the basement were adequate but poorly ventilated with no windows. Location in village was great with stunning views from parking area which doubled as terrace and eating area shared with 2 other properties so outdoor eating wasn't very practical and so very disappointing for a summer holiday....
