"Akitaya is always a great stay. I’ve stayed here both times I’ve been to Kamakura and I plan to stay here again when I return! The rooms are a traditional Japanese style which I think everyone should experience! The hotel is conveniently placed next to Koshigoe station which makes it really easy to get around. "This place is a hidden gem. It's less than 10 minutes walk (we walk pretty fast) from the Fujisawa Station. On the way, there are plenty of restaurants and a grocery store. Our room was beautiful and spacious. We stayed in one of the rooms with a lift so it felt like a 2-bedroom for our party of 3. "Everything was fine except i arrived at 6 am and was told to wait until 1500 for check in. Fine whatever cant you check the rooms ? Is it ready or ar you just standing on protocal? And because i had to wait, i was unable to get breakfast as i didnt make a reservation. But i was there at 6 am? Maybe ask if id like to eat 🤔. And they charged extra money for my daughter even though i paid for 2 people. Why its my room who cares who visits. Place sucks "

"We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were cheerful and eager to help us whenever they can. The location is perfect for those who are looking for a place near Enoshima-Katase station/Enoshima (Enoden)/Enoshima Shonan Monorail Station to make travel easy. Enoshima Island for us is close enough that you can walk it without needing any public transportation. Just need to fix a minor clogged sink (right side) by the washer/dryer machine on the second floor. Overall a pleasent experience and would recommend. "

"AC ok not blew hot air so staff only offered a fan and told us to leave the window open. The exterior lights from the building across the street lit up the room all night because we had to leave the curtains open to let the air in. The fan was plugged in next to the bathroom with the sketchy cord strung across the floor under the door way. My partner tripped over the fan cord in the middle of the night causing bruises on her leg. So we did not get a good sleep and sustained injuries. Next day sucked walking around tired and sore but we had our sight seeing itinerary to fulfill. Second night we just grabbed our things put the key in the self checkout box and moved to another hotel with AC "
