Fortunately there was a couple of guys staying there who were able to call someone who let us into our room. I couldn’t remember if this was a pay at property or if we had prepaid so I asked the guy who told me we owed €75. We offered him our credit card but he asked for cash and it wasn’t till the next morning I discovered that we had indeed pre-paid. The...

"staying at Maison D’eclaibes was the most memorable stay of our two week trip to Europe. My favorite quiet environment in the countryside. The host listened to my limited English conversation. And for my wife love of boiled beans. And the next morning it came out for breakfast. Please continue staying at this inn forever. If possible, i would like to visit again someday. "We only stayed for one night at this gorgeous hotel. It’s a stunning building which has obviously had a lot of money, time and effort put into it. The surrounding area is quiet and rural. Our room was compact but beautifully decorated in a traditional french style. We ate in the hotel on the evening, the service and food were lovely. Unfortunately due to an early start we were unable to have breakfast. "

So - apart from being left stranded when you arrive to being cheated wrt payment I would strongly advise avoiding yhis place. "
