The Anchorage Inn and Marina

"We stayed one night at The Anchorage as we were passing through Ocracoke heading for Hatteras Island. We’ve stayed on Ocracoke a number of times in the past but never at The Anchorage. We chose to stay where we did this time based on the pool as my daughter is addicted to swimming right now. And the pool did not disappoint! The view, from the pool, of Silver Lake is second to none on the island! The deck was clean, there was plenty of seating. No complaints! The room was generally clean and comfortable as well. The location of our room wasn’t ideal, but that’s an “it is what it is” thing. There were some aspects of the property that were pretty warn out—doors/locks/windows/light fixtures were all just kind of used up. Not really a complaint as I can’t even begin to imagine the nightmare that upkeep must be between the ocean air, the strong storms, and the constant wear and tear of guests. All of that to say, we’d have no problem staying again when we’re passing through."

"Beautiful small hotel. Room was very nice with balcony looking out to water. Lots of amenities provided. Continental breakfast was very good. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room had refrigerator and microwave and cooking utensils well maintained and very clean. Would recommend this place highly and stay here again if in the area."

The Silver Lake Hotel at Ocracoke

"I can’t recommend the Silver Lake Hotel enough! The new owners, Hannah and John, have done an incredible job. The recent renovations are absolutely top-notch, and every detail has been thoughtfully done. The rooms are beautiful, and the beds and pillows are so comfortable you’ll almost forget you’re away from home. The bathrooms are stunning, with gorgeous granite countertops, beautifully tiled showers, and amazing water pressure. Each room is also equipped with a mini fridge, microwave and Keurig. The amenities truly set this hotel apart. Guests have access to lounge chairs, beach towels, a small cooler, and even bicycles to use during their stay—everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The location couldn’t be better either—it’s directly across the street from Jolly Roger’s Pub and just around the corner from Dajio’s and SmacNally’s, making it easy to walk to some of the island’s best spots. We had an amazing stay and will most definitely be back. If you’re looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located place to stay, the Silver Lake Hotel is an easy five-star recommendation!"
