"Booked this stay for its Castle description for a special celebration. Everyone on the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Some may call this place ‘dated’ but imo it was elegant in a hunters lodge/castle-y way. Beautiful bathroom, large room and comfortable bed. Nicely appointed with 2 desks and club chairs and table with view of the grounds. Petted ponies and saw bunnies. Great food. Thank you Chef for the sweet treats! Thank you Joy for the nice room assignment. Thank you to Salil and Alison and to those that we didn’t know your names. What fun!"

"Nice pub with a friendly bar and excellent restaurant, rooms were small but comfortable. Parking was across the road in the Co-op car park."

"Run by a lovely family. This hotel is right on the John o’Groats trail (and in the centre of Tain) and provided a very comfortable nights stay after a long days walk. I noticed it also provides /thinks of the details that not all hotels (along the trail) do…. Bottled water, big pack of shortbread, giant tv (not the tiny wee ones you often get on the wall), alarm clock, in shower mat…."

"Really nice house to stay in hostess couldn't be more helpful. Really comfortable bed. Super quality continental breakfast. Great location for walking in to town. Only complaint is we are both light sleepers and we're kept awake by a person next to our room who snored very loudly the whole night. Despite this would still stay again."

"My partner and I stayed for two nights while exploring the central Highland and loved it! The property owner was very welcoming and gave us some historical background of the building which is really interesting. The hotel is situated up a hill which results in stunning glen views from the rooms and grounds. When exploring the grounds you may also stumble across ducks, hens and even peacocks, adding to the uniqueness of the property. The communal kitchen is well equipped, and again offers lovely views. There is also a pool table, swingset and lounge area that guests can use during the day. In addition to this hotels interesting history and picturesque views we also found it to be very peaceful. "
