"Staying at hotel America was like staying in a Soviet era tower block in Moscow in the 1970s. My room was very cold and I had to request heating to be put on. Even with the extra (old and grubby) blanket I was cold all night. The room has probably not been updated since the building was constructed so the bright blue bathroom suite with missing plugs was like something from the 1970s. "A wonderful historical building, but lacked some of the qualities and facilities you would expect from a high class hotel. The staff were not particularly welcoming or helpful. There was nobody willing or available to help us with luggage. The room lacked basic communities like a kettle or a coffee machine. The restaurant is in a wonderful room but the staff were not particularly attentive."

"I LOVED staying here. It felt like a hidden gem during all my traveling through Spain. The owners are super helpful and responsive. Great location to Montserrat and served me wonderfully as a nice nature escape after all the city hustle and bustle. I would stay here again and again."
