Make your Mendocino Coast escape to the rustic chic Redwoods Oceanview Retreat, a 2-bedroom, 2-bath cabin with magnificent ocean views and a partial view of the Navarro River. Situated in Elk, this vacation home blends elements of modern and English Medieval decor with luxurious amenities fit for royalty – including a hot tub overlooking the ocean. This is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, secluded family holiday, or creative retreat. Come make yourself at home!
High ceilings with exposed wood beams, redwood walls, and brick floors channel a traditional chalet, while 50 mbps internet will keep you connected to the outside world – if you want it to. (If you want to go off-grid for a few days, we won't tell!)
Thanks to a fully-equipped kitchen, you can whip up meals and treats whenever inspiration strikes. The redwood breakfast bar is a great place to greet the day with coffee or tea and your favorite morning fare.
The living room features high ceilings and a chandelier, an open floor plan, and plenty of space to relax, with a TV, a couch, and comfortable lounge chairs. It also has nearly floor-to-ceiling windows, so if you don’t find anything on Netflix, you can always watch the view of the trees and the hills down to the ocean. If you like vinyl, you can put your favorite music on the record player and rock out (up to you whether to dance like nobody’s watching).
The two bedrooms have queen-size beds, and one has an en-suite bathroom. Finely crafted wardrobes offer convenient storage. You’ll have plenty of creature comforts while relaxing on your royal estate.
If you’re looking for peaceful solitude, you’ll find it here. Situated on 2+ forested acres, Redwoods Ocean Retreat is ideal for quiet, reflective moments – or for invigorating treks through the trees. If you prefer to unwind al fresco, sit in the Adirondack chairs on the wrap-around deck or sink into the hot tub and take in the stunning vistas. Portions of the property have a view of the Navarro River, so you can breathe in the fresh air while listening to the roar of the ocean and the lapping of the river.
When you’re ready to roam a bit farther afield, you’re 10 minutes’ drive from the hidden gems of Elk, a small coastal town where you’ll find a grocery store, an art gallery, restaurants, and Greenwood Creek State Beach. Or, you can head north to Albion, Little River and Mendocino, or south to Manchester and Point Arena. The Arena Theater, a classic theater from 1928 restored to its full glory, offers a unique medley of arthouse films, special events, and the latest blockbusters.
Award-winning restaurants dot the coast, or you can pick up picnic supplies and explore the Point Arena Lighthouse, Bowling Ball Beach, or one of the many other trails in the area.
They say your home is your castle, and this vacation home lives up to the name. The Redwoods Ocean Retreat may not have a moat, but it will enchant you all the same!
