"The site is picture perfect. It’s built into a cliff above the sea, and the rooms face the morning sun, rising above the water. The property is terraced: every room has a view. This is not a hotel I would recommend to anyone with mobility issues. I asked for a room which was more accessible, due to health issues. Our room was on the “ground floor”/top of our terraced building. 4 flights of stairs down to the pool- the sea is farther down a long incline. 3 flights of stairs up for meals. The staff has golf carts for luggage, and I don’t know if they would have picked us up and driven us to the next terrace up, but we never saw them idle, so we did not ask. The resort seems to attract mostly British tourists, and breakfast is always a British breakfast. The Greek food was great, and there’s a station with fries and grilled meat for picky eaters every day. The staff that ran pool activities did such a great job of getting people of all ages to participate in games and activities. Getting whole families to do the same thing takes a special skill!"

"Immaculate property. Lovely grounds. Pool area is really nice. Plenty of sun beds, lovely view. Nice and peaceful. Only thing is the sun beds do make a noise and some guests insist on dragging them around rather than wheeling them by simply lifting the bed from the bottom but that’s not really the hotels fault. We love staying here as a base in Kefalonia. Friendly staff have always given us the room we request. Breakfast is fine but could be better, not loads of variety and it’s repetitive. Quality of the coffee and yoghurt is not great which for Greece, could be amazing. But was fine for a week, a few mornings we went to local bakeries for a change which were much better."

"This is a much better hotel than some of the ones in the city centre. We only stayed for one night, but the surrounding area and location are superb. Our flight was delayed, but the owner/staff kindly waited for us, which we really appreciated. A great choice for a short stay."

"We loved our stay here. The hotel has a lovely modern feel . We had a seaview maisonette which was perfect for us as a couple and with our two grown up sons. Had a fridge, air con and safe and a lovely large balcony. The pool was lovely and we never struggled to get a sunbed. The hotel provides pool towels. Breakfast is served around the pool so a lovely setting. The pool bar is also excellent and run by the amazing Tony , we loved our chats with him and his lovely partner Angelika who is a cleaner at the hotel. All the other staff we encountered were also lovely people and so helpful, this included the ladies at breakfast, the lady on reception in the mornings , Anastasia on reception in the afternoons, the owner and his son. Thank you all so much for making our holiday in Skala a great one"

"Maria was truly incredible. Nothing was an issue and I really appreciated her hospitality, especially as a young woman travelling on her own. I felt really safe. I had a late transfer following check out but Maria was more than happy for me to use the pool and bathroom while I waited following check out, which I really appreciated. The rooms are gorgeous and has great air conditioning. The breakfast in the morning that Maria prepared was delicious and the pool was always quiet. Perfect stay."
