"This is the 3rd time trying to write this review. On the way to the airport leaving the US, I messaged Complejo La Lucila to tell them that I would be checking in at around 8pm. They responded with one word, saying our reservation was cancelled. No explenation was given, other than they sold the room to someone else. We were on our way to a foreign country and remote area with no place to stay. No other rooms in the city were available."

"Great location by the beach, bus terminal and town centre and really friendly and helpful staff who spoke good English. It offers plenty of amenities and is a good hostel. I booked a private room which I found a little expensive for one person. It was a bit cheaper than a hotel room but also more basic than a hotel room but clean and secure and more than fine for a few nights, especially given the great location. "We got the balcony that we asked for. It was pretty hot, so didn’t get to use it as much as I would’ve liked. An umbrella or shade on the balcony would’ve been great. The rooms with a balcony were smaller. The bathroom just had the small sink, so nowhere to put toiletries. The window had a blackout screen. Nice, but, some sheer curtains would’ve been nice in addition to the blackout screen. You asked my opinion :) The location was great. Staff was very accommodating. "
