"The hotel was lovely, really elegant and exceptionally clean. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. Only downside is that the roof top area was still under going renovation during our stay so no pool. The hotel itself is in a great location to explore Barcelona with easy transport links and the gothic quarter and las ramblas just a moments walk away."

"Not a 5-star resort kind of hotel. It's a 3-star boutique hotel. Bad news/good news ...there are no amenities: no little bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner, not even a box of tissues. Instead, there are wall-mounted dispensers over the sink and in the shower with liquid soap that is supposed to serve as bath gel, shampoo and hand soap. There are no ice machines (though you can request ice at the front desk and they will go in the back to get some). Technically, there is no door on the bathroom. Instead you close the shower door to get privacy on the toilet or in the shower...but the door is transluscent so you are basically exposed. No bathrooms on the lobby level -- you have to go down to the basement/parking level. The rooftop pool is in a beautiful setting where you get a terrific view of the whole city. But it's so small, it can only accommodate 4 to 5 people standing or 2 swimming. The good news-- wonderful breakfast buffet. Fantastic location -- short walk to La Rambla and the marina/water area. Friendly, accomodating staff."

"EXTREMELY IMPORTANT- The hotel itself is surrounded by a busy are and "park" (see photo). While the location is ideal to the gothic quarter (best part of the hotel) it's not a safe area at night. Lower level floors on ALL SIDES are loud all the time. We were awoken by homeless people screaming early morning hours. When I went to the front desk to ask about moving rooms due to the yelling homeless people that live outside the hotel they told me they could move me but it would be an additional charge per night. When we booked there was no where you could select a higher level floor. We had already booked a premium room. I inquired further about the charge for higher level floor where they told me it would be the exact same room I booked but on a higher floor. It was very clear that noise from the lower floors is a consistent problem for this hotel and rather than attempt to fix it they profit off it by charging more to move you to a higher floor. This hotel shows pictures of a "pool" and states it has one- what it has is not a swimmable "pool". The rooftop has a very beautiful view definitely a highlight of the hotel but closes at midnight, has poor upkeep, and was smaller than the photos showed. The house keeping staff is wonderful. They brought fresh towels, new water bottles, made the bed every day very happy. This hotel is not for families. Walls are very thin...we heard the couple next to us. Steamer in the room was great. Hotel was run down, chipping paint, stains, ect."

"Fabulous hotel - really enjoyed our stay. The rooftop space with pool was an added bonus and bigger than a lot of other hotels so was a huge bonus. Location is perfect, in the centre of everything and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was ok and what you would expect for a hotel breakfast but felt they could have done a bit better in this area and had a different variety of foods. It was pleasant enough, just not outstanding for what you would expect for the kind of hotel. Got a bit monotonous towards the end of the holiday."
