"I selected since I needed to catch a flight the next day so the proximity and shuttle services got my attention, however the hotel is wonderful, beautiful..the staff was great and the breakfast was fabulous...I highly recommend it and if I'm near the Barcelona area I would definitely would come back ."

"We loved staying at the Lamaro while we were in Barcelona. The location was excellent because the Gothic Quarter has lots to see, but it was also only a 15-30 minute walk to a lot of other sites, including the beach, many of Gaudi’s houses, and the Sagrada Família. I also ordered their birthday chocolate mousse cake for my spouse’s birthday, and it was insanely delicious. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Barcelona."

"Hotel 1898 is a classy unique building. All common spaces, including the lobby the bar, spa and pool areas, are maintained very well, retaining architectural features that make the building look beautiful. The staff was very helpful, and the building was always kept clean. It's location on La Rambla was very convenient and close to Mass transportation."

"Property was in a great location, less than 10 minutes from 2 metro lines. They offered a buffet, but due to dietary restrictions (allergies), we could not eat it. It wasn't a big deal as there are a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. We were able to drop our luggage in a convenient and free locker room in the basement when we arrived. Other amenities: - rooftop pool & solarium with a great view of the city - workout room - vending machines for water, snacks, and light sandwiches (Carrefour is also on the corner if you want another option) - microwave in the public area - multiple elevators One thing to note, the main doors are always locked. You will have to use the intercom to get in until you have your room key. This is a nice feature, as the area is busy. Restaurants worth a try in walking distance: - Fat Cat - La Monroe We also bought unique handmade souvenirs at the weekend Artisan market by the metro."

"Frustrated that the rooftop bar and restaurant were “temporarily closed.” There was no signs or anything to say that it was closed. We went up there and noticed everything was blocked off and there was not even any cushions on the chairs for people to sit and enjoy the nice weather and views."

"The breakfast on the 1st floor was very good, not a continental breakfast at all. The bell cap was very helpful. The only criticism is the shower tub bottom is very slippery inside. I would suggest a placing the floor mat inside for better traction."
