"The King's Little Pathway" spans the El Chorro gorge at a height of 100m. It was built in the early 1900s as an access path between nearby hydroelectric plants. The bridge got it's name in 1921 when King Alfonso XIII crossed it to help inaugurate a new dam.

The path rises to the bridge from either side of the gorge, snaking dramatically along the sheer cliff face. In recent years the path has been closed to all but rock-climbers, as many portions of the pathway had crumbled away.

However, the Spanish government recently completed a three-year restoration of the pathway, including guardrails, and it just opened yesterday - March 28, 2015! The 6€ entrance fee will be waived for the first six months, but you'll need to make reservations in advance: http://bit.ly/1BzhH8Y. Also, bear in mind that the path is one-way, so check the return bus schedule, or book a return crossing as well!

"This is a beautiful finca offering total peace and quiet with stunning views that stretch for miles across the valley... we loved it. The finca itself is really comfortably furnished and absolutely spotlessy clean. The kitchen is superb, and the lounge is a nice space to chill when the heat of the day is too much. The outside area is huge and the pool is large, warm, and clean (thanks Loli). The highlight has to sitting on the patio watching the sun disappear behind the mountains. What a place....

"Vlot kontakt met eigenaar (woont 100 meter verder op). Schoon, mooi en van alle gemakken voorzien. Enige dat onduidelijk was, waren de schoonmaakkosten. Was warrig weergegeven op de website. Alle 3 de huisjes hadden we gehuurd met 16 man/vrouw. Heerlijk zwembad er bij. Eigenaar kwam tussen door nog extra handdoeken brengen. Aanrader deze locatie !!!"

"Our host Alberto was very helpful. He constantly stayed in touch with us to make sure he was there to check us in whenever we got to the house. He have us great tips on where to park and what order to see things in Malaga as well. My kids had a blast with the super Nintendo, pool table and foosball table in the property. "Pros: De communicatie met de gastvrouw en gast heer was top! Hele lieve mensen zijn het. Als we vragen hadden of er ontbrak iets aan het huisje, kwamen ze binnen 30 min ons te hulp schieten. De locatie was ook perfect, een rustige omgeving en binnen een kleine 20 min zit je op prachtige plekken. Het huis is schoon, en mooi modern ingericht. Al met al echt niks te klagen. Een prachtige week gehad in dit mooie huisje."

"We had a wonderful stay in Casa El Rueo. The villa is in a great mountain location on the outskirts of Almogía and very well equipped. It is the perfect base for exploring the Malaga/Granada/Cordoba areas of Andalusia. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the extensive gardens and made good use of the outdoor kitchen and pool.Therese and Jose were the perfect hosts and were always happy to give us advice on the local area. "We had a fantastic two-week vacation at the villa with my partner and our three children. The villa exceeded our expectations — it included all the listed amenities and even some pleasant surprises, like a TV in every room and a karaoke set in the living room. Everything was spotless, and the pool was regularly cleaned every 3 to 4 days.The owners were incredibly kind and helpful, offering us plenty of great tips for exploring the Malaga area.
