Hotel Linde, Einsiedeln, Switzerland.
Had a one night stay recently to visit family in Einsiedeln.
While the location was good and the room was clean and presentable, we had some issues that made our stay unpleasant.
#1) No wifi connection. While the hotel did have a wireless network it was undergoing maintenance during our stay and we were unable to connect. The hotel manager was unable to rectify this problem and we had to rely on our personal mobile data to complete our work. This is very expensive for Canadians visiting Europe, and the room was advertised as including free wifi. Nothing was offered as a rebate or reduction in the room rate.
#2) The shower did not drain adequately. With the tub drain in the fully open position, the water drained very very slowly and the bath filled up quite quickly. Also the shower head mount was able to swing freely with nothing to retain the shower head from spinning when it was turned on. So you turn on the shower and water sprays haphazardly soaking the bathroom and floor until you are able to grab and hold on to the shower head.
We had upgraded to a suite and while the room was of a good size and was clean and tidy, it was expensive and we expected a little more out of what we were paying.
#3) The staff were pleasant and parking was provided.
In the future i would try an alternate hotel.
Close to the cloister, clean; for a single traveler the bathroom down the hall and around the corner--the only option when I booked a single room--was a little inconvenient, and the room's walls do little to keep out noise (luckily, apart from one evening, there was no noise). Be ready to be woken up by the church bells!
This was a cute little hotel in the perfect location! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant and it was absolutely delicious!! I would definitely recommend this place!
