"On arrival our 2 night booking could not be found we were then given a room overlooking a roof directly outside the laundry and cleaners room. When I asked to change rooms the boy on reception said they were full, rubbish, there was about a dozen people in the hotel. The place is old, in need of a massive upgrade in the rooms and there’s a reason the bathroom is not in the picture of the room, it was the size of a broom cupboard with old plastic sink and toilet and the shower would be very cosy for a larger person. There’s no kettle or water in the room either. Some parts of the hotel have been upgraded, outside has a nice patio and play area overlooking the water. There’s no lift so hauling cases up 3 flights is not fun. Overall we left after one night and didn’t look back, there’s nothing in town but a run down shop so keep driving."

"We only stopped one night, en route from Aurland to Geiranger, but really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable and well maintained. All of the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The food was plentiful and tasty. In fact, in the nicest possible way, it was very homely. Sometimes when you’re on a long vacation, the overly fancy stuff is just too much, and you long for a tasty, filling, nutritious meal. Oh, and the location is amazing. Our room had a balcony facing directly onto the fjord and mountains. Stunning!"

"What a wonderful place to spend 7 days & nights. Done a fair bit of driving through the Fjords over a couple of trips and the road up to Urke and our final destination takes some beating. Amazing place. An added bonus was getting out onto the Fjord on the boat that comes with wth cottage. Thank you Thorunn for all your help and advice which all added to making it an unforgettable few days."

"This house is located in an absolutely spectacular location. The town of Saebo is seemingly a well-kept secret and is extremely quiet and relatively undeveloped. The house offers numerous amenities including a spacious living space, indoor sauna, jacuzzi, multiple TVs, lots of seating and kitchen space plus a grand piano inside, and a very large balcony and deck, hot tub and secluded setting outside with world-class views perched on the edge of the fjord. While the furnishings are less than luxurious and likely in need of an update, the large house is amply provisioned to suit most needs. You can walk into town and get basics or drive 20 minutes to a larger town for everything else. This is a place to be awed by nature, relax, hike, take the ferry to a nearby hamlet. No fancy restaurants or shops and little excitement except for the sheer beauty of the area. No giant cruise ships like other fjords either. We did not want to leave."

"Everything about our stay in this house was amazing! You can not ask for better views and the home owner went above and beyond for us when we ran into probelms with our travel plans and she allowed us to extend our stay by two nights. We can not recommend it enough and will absolutely be trying to come again."
