Part#1 - The Museum The Borderland Museum Eichsfeld combines a museum, study centre and outdoor trail along the line of the former border. It occupies the former East German customs building at the crossing point between Duderstadt and Teistungen. The permanent exhibition documents the history of the border in the Eichsfeld region, which was divided between East and West Germany during the Cold War. A trail follows the old border fortifications up to a West German observation tower which was constructed to allow people to look into East Germany.

"The house very comfort and beautiful with country design and elegant modern furniture clean as required. The family owned it must be considered as another credit shall be added to this property they are very friendly and generous gave us a full illustration where to go and visit. Highly recommend."

"Der Aufenthalt im Haus war klasse! Das Haus gibt vieles her - von ausreichend Platz zum schlafen als auch einen tollen Garten mit Grill und Sitzmöglichkeiten. Die Küche ist super gut ausgestattet und es fehlt an wirklich nichts. Die Bäder sind total modern - generell das Haus sehr sauber. Das Haus befindet sich in einer ruhigen Lage und befindet sich direkt an einem Feldweg, der Wald schließt dann direkt an. Toller Aufenthalt und absolut empfehlenswert!"
