This is a cool place, very secluded and private cabin. Fun forest atmosphere. It did have a funny smell. Overall a great vacation spot.

The view from outside was really nice, but the whole cabin smelled like old dog piss, especially in the bedroom.

Overall this property fit our needs for a couple nights. It had basic necessities in a private woodsy location. Not as clean as we would prefer, but our family was happy for beds, a bathroom, and kitchen amenities on Orcas!

Easy to get to, easy to access, and more than spacious enough for two humans and a dog. It was clean, well-stocked, and there was an Enya CD that added to the magic. There was an odd smell (dead animal somewhere?) but Enya made even that better.

Great space for kids although the loft space rail made me a bit nervous for my daughter who likes to climb around things.

Lovely private cabin, fairly close to many things to do. The refrigerator is small and noisy and full of frost.

My sisters and I enjoyed our stay at your Raccoon Retreat. It is in a nice spot, easily accessible to Eastsound, Olga, Mt. Constitution, and surrounding areas. One downside is that the beds in the loft were quite uncomfortable, so we ended up sharing the master bed, and with one sister sleeping on the couch downstairs. Overall, we had a lovely time.

Last weekend I stayed at the Racoon Retreat with my girlfriend and it was amazing. The house was very clean and the surroundings were quiet and beautiful. We were worried by some bad reviews on the site but that was not in our experience. I would recommend this to couples and couples with children who can sleep on the attic.

We loved Raccoon Retreat! Perfect for our family of 4 with the kiddos (both 5 years old) having a blast in the loft area. That area would definitely be a bit small (height wise) to comfortably navigate by anyone over 5 foot, but was wonderful for the boys to have their own space. Management was very responsive to the only issue we had.

Gifted stay for my son and his wife anniversary. They loved it! Comfortable and cozy. They did say it was small and I thought it was large (sleeps 10) that was deceiving BUT it was nice for their stay!

Well-appointed and clean except for the urine odor in the master bedroom. It’s an adorable little cabin, but too bad about the smell. It wasn’t constant, but when you walk past the entrance to the ledge and also when passing through the hall. Linens, dishes, bathroom all clean. Convenient location.

This property is not correctly advertised and I would like for VRBO to contact me regarding a refund. We are 3 adult friends who wanted some room to stretch out, and seeing that this VRBO slept "5", we felt that we would be comfortable. When we arrived, we were disappointed to find only a queen bed and a loft that was marked as off limits to guests. The loft had the majority of the sleeping spots in the property. It was also advertised as having a pull out couch, which the couch in the living room is not. It left us feeling uncomfortable and squished. Unfortunately I can't recommend this property, despite it being in a great area and very cute. Good for a couple but definitely not for more than two adults.

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving with a friend the cabin ( tiny home) type unit has a wonderfully stocked kitchen with plenty of cookware to cook thanksgiving dinner even a bread maker for homemade bread. It was clean & well supplied with kitchen & bath products, plenty of clean fluffy towels. The heat works great as nights were cold no extra blankets needed. The only little complaint is the queen mattress is old and sinks in the middle a bit. . Very peaceful through out the stay enjoyed morning coffee on the deck to sounds of birds was a great way to start the day. Will definitely be renting this home again soon.

Great location, clean and warm. Had everything you need for a perfect tiny home/cabin stay on the island. The only complaint here is that there are several bed options and they are all bad. Worn out old mattresses that only provide a rough night sleep and some morning back pain. Update the beds and this place would be a perfect spot.

We booked this place with the understanding that it would sleep our 4-person group. It stated it has a one bedroom and then a loft with a bed. We got an email leading up to our stay that the loft would no longer be available due to safety concerns but were told there would be a pull out couch. That worked for us so we didn’t think twice. Upon arrival we learned that there actually isn’t a pull out couch, simply a couch. One person from our group had to sleep on the floor each night. The owner and management company (Vacasa) nickle and dimed us and didn’t feel it was fair to give us a reasonable refund. The listing still shows it sleeps 5. IT DOES NOT - BEWARE! Would not book this place or anywhere managed by Vacasa again.

A place for people who want to come back to quiet after a day enjoying the island. My husband rated this his favorite place we have stayed on Orcas. That said prospective renters should be aware this rental is on a narrow winding road that is not what I would term walkable. You won’t be strolling into town without an intrepid spirit. You can, however, get to groceries in under 15 minutes by car. The kitchen and the grill were clean, well maintained and super functional . I wish I had remembered olive oil but there was vegetable oil on hand. Next time I would bring drinking water. The well water is ok but sensitive palates might balk. The wifi worked without a hitch but if you want watch either of 2 tv’s provided you might want to bring your laptop. We are here for nature but we don’t have kids. All and all a super comfortable space to relax for a long weekend.

The loft space in this home is a crawl space, not big enough to stand up even for a child. The space was very claustrophobic. We ended up finding another place to stay, and not using the house at all. I have been in repeated contact with Vacasa about getting some kind of refund, but communication is very spotty, and I have gotten no resolution. Very frustrating. I will not be booking anywhere through Vacasa again. That said, the quiet, wooded location of this home could be very pleasant, and the place was very neat and tidy.

My sister and I arrived on a stormy afternoon to find a clean and cozy cabin that heated up in just a few minutes. It is very small, but nicely appointed, with a nice kitchen, comfortable bed and great water pressure for a lovely shower. The hot water was hot and the cold water was ice cold and refreshing. Great taste too! The common living room area has magnificent ceilings, windows and an extremely comfortable sectional sofa. The area could use a small coffee table. But we placed the tv on the kitchen counter and used the tv stand as one. Problem solved. The deck is huge! Could use some outdoor furniture, but since the weather was not conducive for outdoor lounging it was not an issue. My only criticism is the loft space. The description does not contain the fact that unless you are 3 feet tall, it is not a space that can be used for anything other than sleeping. Even changing into pj’s can be a task. Luckily, my sister, who slept up there, is only 5 feet tall so it wasn’t a huge deal. I think it just didn’t seem to make sense that with all the privacy and land around that it was not just 4 feet taller. It makes me think that that space was initially created for storage. That said, if your party consists of 2 adults who plan to share the extremely comfortable queen size bed on the main floor bedroom, it is a cozy, clean, comfortable and very private little cabin in the woods, that I would definitely recommend! And the Vacassa people are very communicative and responsible.

This is quite a complicated and long story to explain, but let me start with the good parts, stay tuned for the horror. This was a beautiful but small home in a lovely secluded location on East Sound. Gorgeous windows, and a full kitchen. Smelled a bit like cat pee when we got there, but no big deal right? It was a deal and totally worth the price. Everything was fine until the neighbor approached the cabin. Upon reflection, it seems that he was scoping us out the first couple nights that we were there. He, Bruce, came around 1 o’clock on our last night shining a flashlight in our cabin, yelling indiscernible things outside and brandishing a shovel. When my partner went out to tell him to leave, he began demanding that me and my partner follow him out into the woods. I will spare you from all of the details of the confrontation, but needless to say it was terrifying. He kept making veiled threats, and we both felt in danger for our life. We packed up all of our things, We called the police and we tried to make a plan to get away. We spoke to Property Manager in about it, and it turns out he actually destroyed the cabin after we left, because one of the doors didn’t lock. Property management was kind at first and worked with me to get a refund. This was back in June, it is now august and I have not received any money back and the manager, Laura Wilder is ghosting me. I don’t want to cause a fuss I just want my money back. I do not recommend this home or vacasa on orcas

the house was wonderful and is well designed despite being small there is plenty of room to relax, cook, sleep having two tvs was wonderful. the Internet works very well despite being in the woods surround by tall trees . kitchen is very well equipped has everything from a turkey roasting pan to bread maker . this home is well insulated & can get very warm inside even with 19% weather 2' plus of snow high winds & rain house was never cold set at 60-65. house could use end table or coffee table in living room area to set laptop or cup of coffee down when watching TV or relaxing. the loft is better suited for children than adults as it has a low ceiling at 5'6" you have to be on your knees to avoid banging your head. the bathroom is small but has full tub & good water pressure the well water is very good & cold. local Vacasa staff were great & helpful with updates on winter storm that started night before arriving that dumped 2-3 feet of snow on the island unfortunately Orcas Island has only 1 plow and doesn't do much about clearing roads or opening there businesses in bad weather most stores restaurants were closed or closed when ever they felt like it with no warning. Raccoon Point Road is unpaved up down a few steep inclines narrow & winding it wasn't till late Wednesday night that the plow even started to plow it somewhat also Vacasa local staff have no way to plow the driveway which is steep & downhill to rental 4 wheel drive (carry cables in winter ) was only way to get to unit & out of driveway do to snow & ice. thank you to Della Orcas manager for calling guest & keeping updated on conditions do to storm. added bonus is this rental is pet friendly enjoying a two week vacation & being able to bring my dog with me really made for a great Christmas. most definitely will rent again very soon.
