Wander Camp Yellowstone Island Park

"Great location and cool concept. 20 mins from West Yellowstone, however as of Aug 2026 they are doing some major roadwork between Wander and West Yellowstone so plan accordingly. Tents and beds are super comfy. Property is very accommodating. There is a herd of very friendly a curious cows that often come in from the field to say hello. Heads up that the property is at the end of a very poorly maintained dirt road. Highly suggest an SUV or other high clearance vehicle if you're renting a car. Bathrooms are lever showers, but they were clean and functional."

"This is a fun little add on to any vaca in Yellowstone. The night stars are such a fun way to enjoy camping. The place if well maintained and staff are nice. Cold showers and cows if you like that sort of thing. We enjoyed our stay and recommend."

"The staff did not point out the time of breakfast and we got there 20 minutes after 9 thinking it was until 10am. No, it was until 9am! ๐"

"My wife and I spent 5 nights here. If you are going to Yellowstone this is only about 30 minutes from the west gate. It was roomy and much better than a hotel room. Everything near Yellowstone was super expensive, but this was a hidden Jewel definitely worth the money. It is walking distance to a grocery store and a restaurant that serves breakfast every morning."

"Very clean!! We had a great sleep before boarding an early flight. We walked to the Japanese Friendship Garden and dinner at Snakebite; and recommend both! I was a little hesitant to book a 2-star hotel but the reviews were so good that I took a chance. Safe, clean, and quiet. Would definitely stay here again!"
