Durango Mountain House with Hot Tub and Views - great location
Welcome to our family's mountain home, the Nuthatch, named after the cute compact Colorado songbird. Our home has been recently renovated, furnished, and stocked with the utmost attention to style, comfort, and convenience as would have it for ourselves and we are excited to begin welcoming visitors February 2022. We are perfectly situated on a serene and quite lot, backing to the BLM, 8 minutes from downtown Durango and 25 minutes from Purgatory on the famed County Road 250.

This was a perfect spot for our family coming for the Polar Express. My wife and I enjoyed the hot tub under a clear night sky. My son in law and I also utilized the ping pong table a lot. Overall a great experience and communication with the property manager was open and accurate.
We had a terrific stay. The house was perfect. Very well maintained and appointed. It had everything we needed. Location is great. Quiet and close to everything. We hope to come back again.
Everything was perfect for our family of 8, including 2 children. The house was clean, very well stocked, very comfy beds and location is hard to beat. We would definitely stay again when in the area
Beautiful place to stay! It was so perfect for our family. Close to town and stores yet it was a straight shot drive to Skiing/ Snowboarding. Beautiful views!
Beautifully appointed and laid out to meet our family needs with ease and comfort. Private environment yet a quick drive to the heart of Durango activities.
Wonderful property in a beautiful setting, just outside durango in an idyllic valley. We used the hot tub and beautiful breakfast patio every day. Great communication from the owner. Would recommend and stay again.
Absolutely love this place. Easy check in and communication with the hosts. The home is beautiful, well decorated, and has thoughtful touches. Loved everything about it.
We had a great stay at this property. Edwin kept us informed and the location was very convenient (15 minutes tops to Downtown Durango). The property was extremely clean and the kitchen was fully stocked with glasses, pots, pans, and utensils. We used this as a home base for the trips we took to Ouray, Telluride, Mesa Verde National Park, and the train to Silverton. Great place.
Great place, super pretty location. Property manager was very responsive. We enjoyed the record player and getting back to playing albums (felt like the 1980's again), the hot tub post bike rides and thought the location was perfect for the Ironhorse Bike Classic: Not too close to town, just the right distance away.
The only limitation is there are two bathrooms total and one is in the master bedroom, but we managed just fine.
Would recommend.
Couldn't have been better. My family met another friend and family there and we experienced all Durango had to offer. This property is positioned perfectly for just about anything you want to attack. Edwin made it all so easy from start to finish. Would absolutely recommend this place.
Great house - loved the decor choices and the beds were comfy. We had deer regularly visiting and the front and back views are gorgeous. The kitchen included all of the basic knives and tools one would need. Location was convenient for going to town or heading off on other adventures. We loved the signs around the house with instructions on how to do things! The owners were super nice and flexible with check-out times.
Great property in Durango located between downtown Durango and Trimble. About 8 minutes to get into town. House was great, stylish, and clean. As well stocked and organized a Vrbo as we have rented. Everything you need to cook and accommodate a full house and everything was well organized and labeled. Quick response from the host on a couple of questions.
We had a great time staying in Durango and the house was great. There were a few things that we saw needed attention.
No coffee filters
No soap in shower upstairs
Latch and strike not working at rear bedroom
If we are in the Durango area again we would stay here again. Truly enjoyed it!
Thanks so much,

The Nuthatch property was amazing! The house has everything you could need and the decor is just beautiful. We did a grocery pick up at Walmart and cooked all of our meals at the house, except for the last night. Our main reason for our trip was to ski at Purgatory and do the Polar Express. The location was excellent for this.
We loved all of the signs around the house to let us know what specifically to do and how to work things. There were so many details put into this property.
Things worth mentioning: the hot tub is amazing after skiing for the day. The kids loved the TV/kids room. The fact that there were blow up mattresses made it even better because all 4 kids were able to have their own sleeping space. This helped getting everyone to sleep. Ha! The only thing I would say for that room is the addition of shades like the upstairs room, because the kids said it was kinda scary (it was a full moon so you could see out). The kitchen if fully stocked. The bedrooms were spacious and loved that there were desks in two of the rooms. All all agreed that the beds were super comfy. The upstairs room was the biggest with the biggest bathroom.
We were there during Christmas and after we asked, the hosts were gracious to have a small Christmas tree set up for us. The kids loved this because for sure Santa would come now. :) We were even able to bake cookies for him!
I had some questions before the trip and Edwin was quick to answer. We would definitely stay here again!
