Towards Tidley Hill In the south-east of the square, the Wayfarer's Walk bridleway just touches the square as it makes a right-angle turn. Ahead through the gate is the field rising to Tidley Hill (so named because it is actually hardly a hill?) A footpath comes in from the gate on the right.

Countryside near Dummer This field headland runs roughly west-east along the southern edge of a very large field taking up a substantial part of the north-western corner of the square. The clump of trees in the middle left is shown on the 1:25K map as pit (dis), one of many such local clay pits in this area. The farming is arable, although this field is fallow left to grass.
