"We arrived for an overnight stay at the Crown and mitre on April 30/2025 . The first room we had ( 303 ) wasn’t at all to our liking or what we had expected it was old, tired and in need of some TLC . Thankfully to the Hotel Manager Ellie we moved to a room on the second floor . We were really delighted with our new room on it was evident that this room had been refurbished it also had the most beautiful and comfortable bed we had a great sleep . water was a bit too cold but the hot tub and sauna were very good. There are walking trails and a small lake nearby which is great for birdwatching. Also views of a ruined castle within walking distance. Restaurant food was nicely presented."

"The hotel is very friendly staff couldnt do enough for you . The food was 5 star on all meals and we could also pay extra to have breakfast in bed . (Real treat ) We had a four poster room which was lovely and a good size but a little noisey from the road .The beds and pillows were to hard for us but this is our preference so might suit a lot of people. All in all a wonderful stay and enjoyed the

"Blackaddie is very comfortable country hotel. We stayed two nights in pheasant, and found the accommodation to be quite a very high standard. The bed was very large and comfortable but slightly firm. There is a lovely view over the garden towards the river. We ate in the hotel both evenings and couldn’t understand why it wasn’t busier as both meals were delicious. "
