Fireside Cottage private & located in Duck Creek Village near National Parks

Located in Duck Creek Village, Utah, the Christensen Retaret cabin provides you with homey accommodations in a mountain setting. Whether you are searching for a weekend retreat for just you and your spouse, or a place to hold a family reunion or company retreat,  will fit your needs.

With spacious rooms and beautiful decks, you will have plenty of room to spread out in the cabin. There's plenty of viewing that can be done as you sit by the extra large fireplace and take advantage of the large windows that allow you to gaze into the heavens at night.

Due to the location in a mountainous setting, the activities and local attractions vary depending on the season. In the winter, snowmobiling is extremely popular and connects you to hundreds of miles of trails. Brian Head ski resort is also about 40 minutes away. In the summer, ATVs and motorcycles become the preferred mode of transportation and unlock seemingly endless territory to explore. Regardless of the activity, this cabin provides you with an inviting refuge to wind down in front of the fire in the winter or to watch the sunset while relaxing on the deck after a summer BBQ.

The cabin is especially popular with people who are looking to escape the busy city atmosphere and spend some time in the breathtaking national parks of southern Utah. Conveniently located just over 3 hours from Las Vegas and under 4 hours from Provo, Utah, the location puts you within an hour of Cedar Breaks Point, Zion National Park, and Bryce Canyon National Park.

Central location, quaint property
Great location with lots of hiking around. Very rural, the roads in the village are all unpaved. We brought our Jeep, so no issues with that. It was raining hard the night we arrived & anything without 4 wheel drive might have a challenge. Property is secluded/private. Place is clean and plenty of room. Ammenities listed are accurate. res

Loved the location and the cabin had everything you could need! Lots of wildlife. We had a deer frequently stroll through the front of the property.

Duck Creek Village Cabin
Lovely cabin HIGH in the mountains. Some things that were surprises: Elevation at cabin is approximately 7700’. Road to location calls for 4WD to “prevent damage to road”. Cabin HVAC consists of a wood stove, space heaters, and a floor fan that has seen better days. I thought these things should have been mentioned in the site description. Beyond all that, we had a very enjoyable stay. Cabin location is halfway between Bryce and Zion and there is a beautiful drive to Cedar City to the nearest large grocery. Duck Creek Village was just waking up from winter and some of the businesses were open shortened hours. Food in town was good, but venues severely limited. We had a good time and would stay again, but not a retiree’s dream vacation spot with sub-30 temps and snow in early May.

Wonderful Escape!
My wife and I came and stayed for five days in May. Cabin was fantastic- super clean and comfortable. Our hopes of finding some place that was close to both Bryce Canyon and Zion were fully met- we were able to go hiking everyday and then come home and rest in this wonderful cabin. 10/10 would recommend.

Great place
The loft was my son's favorite. Clean and cozy. Construction in duck creek made the way up a little more confusing but once we found the detour it was easier getting to everytime.

Disappointed!
Upon arrival the cabin was not cleaned. Fridge was dirty. The downstairs carpet was filthy and we had to vacuum. The bathroom has spiderwebs all over the shower. Upstairs second bedroom sheets were stained. Washer and dryer are listed as amenities but do not work. Contacted the owner and for the cleaning all we got as a response was “COVID”. For the washer and dryer not working no explanation was given. Only 4 sets of towels provided without working washer and dryer. We actually left a day early. DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE.

Duck Creek
Fantastic place for my grandkids to play in the snow. I would recommend driving in during day light hours driveway not plowed very well. It’s super hard to find the markings to your cabin. Would have been nice to have an Ax,Snow shovel and a lighted front porch. The back deck was so covered with snow was really impossible to enjoy.

Ideal Cabin
This cabin was perfect for our family of 5. Although not large, there was plenty of space for all of us. The drive to Zion is about 1.5 hours and a little shorter to Bryce Canyon, but it was nice to be in the middle of both.

Great Mountain Cabin
We had such a relaxing and wonderful time at this cabin... It was nice to be close to a market and restaurants. The cabin was very clean and well stocked! The location was convenient for visiting many Nat'l Parks, we even made it to the Northern Rim of the Grand Canyon and back in one day! Would recommend it to anyone... We had 6 grown people- two parents and 4 kids high school and college age... and we fit just fine.... Thanks for a great time!
