Dry-stone walls are an integral feature of the Yorkshire Dales. Whilst you will often see them being repaired it is more unusual to see a new one being built.
Here at Appletreewick I was fortunate to see a craftsman building this wall. I could only admire his skill. Whilst he finished the wall with a mortared coping, the wall itself is "dry".

It is clean, well equipped and in a really handy location with the train station close by and a nice couple of wee pubs up the road. the house itself has a modern kitchen and main bathroom as well as another bathroom on the top ( 3rd Floor ). "Stayed at Apple Tree Corner in Harrogate and we arrived late to a spotlessly clean house that was tastefully furnished with all the amenities we needed. Location is ideal, a 15 mins stroll into the centre of Harrogate. Nice quiet and very private location. Loved that the car was safe and it had FREE parking (had to pay everywhere else in Harrogate). The host had some brilliant suggestions in the guest book so we tried Brimhan rocks and Betty’s Tea Room which are highly recommended. Would love to...

"Everything was wonderful. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating. The house was more lovely than the photos and all the rooms beautifully comfortable. There were thick towels, comfy beds, a welcome basket, everything we would need in the kitchen and bathrooms, comfortable beds and really kind, thoughtful and easy communications with our hosts. We hope to return!"
