"Positives Great hotel, lovely staff, lovely clean room, comfortable nights sleep, coffee maker, kettles biscuits etc in room. Amazing breakfast. Downside Small blood stain at bottom of duvet cover, my husband told me not to call about it I do have a photo., I then decided to order room service 2 shandys and the Pina Colada dessert, when I took the cover off it was 2 scoops of icecream and some coconut no pineapple at all nothing like the menu description, I even took a photo as I I was quite shocked. I could not call room service to complain, as the phone in the room was not working I reported this to reception as I called to place the room service order from my mobile I should have gone to reception before checking out unfortunately we were in a rush. "

"This was my second stay at this hotel. I came back because I really liked it the first time, although it has changed hands since then. On arrival, our rooms were ready. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our baggage was safely left in the luggage room on the day of our departure, which made it so much easier on our last day. It was even brought to our table when we decided on a last-minute drink in the bar before heading to the station. If I had any gripe at all, it was in-room information. But this seems to be the same in most hotels these days. I miss having a menu, opening times, local sights etc in a booklet or folder. So convenient for the train station. Be aware that there is a door right next to the station. The first time I went, I walked all the way around the building to the front entrance! Would definitely stay here again."

"Went direct to the hotel from Thirsk, and arrived at 10.30 am. The receptionist was very polite and let us store our cases until we could check in at 3pm. Easy check-in, and had a river facing room on the third floor. Beautiful room, and great bathroom ( the shower was a drencher but there was a shower cap) and lovely view. Blackout curtains and spacious with enough coat hangers for our stay. This is the second time we have stopped and may be tempted to make it a regular yearly hotel as everywhere was exceptionally clean, with a nice smell. Central enough for walking from the train station and close to the town centre."
