"We loved staying at the Lamaro while we were in Barcelona. The location was excellent because the Gothic Quarter has lots to see, but it was also only a 15-30 minute walk to a lot of other sites, including the beach, many of Gaudi’s houses, and the Sagrada Família. I also ordered their birthday chocolate mousse cake for my spouse’s birthday, and it was insanely delicious. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Barcelona."

"Hotel 1898 is a classy unique building. All common spaces, including the lobby the bar, spa and pool areas, are maintained very well, retaining architectural features that make the building look beautiful. The staff was very helpful, and the building was always kept clean. It's location on La Rambla was very convenient and close to Mass transportation."

"Frustrated that the rooftop bar and restaurant were “temporarily closed.” There was no signs or anything to say that it was closed. We went up there and noticed everything was blocked off and there was not even any cushions on the chairs for people to sit and enjoy the nice weather and views."

"The breakfast on the 1st floor was very good, not a continental breakfast at all. The bell cap was very helpful. The only criticism is the shower tub bottom is very slippery inside. I would suggest a placing the floor mat inside for better traction."

"All the employees were very nice and helpful. The room had a nice balcony. It was clean and spacious. The hotel was very beautiful. It had been a mansion. It held an old world charm. I kept taking pictures of all the common areas.....it was so elegant. It even had a reading room. It had a great location to many shops and restaurants. And at night, it was quiet. Great breakfast offered at a reasonable price. Lots of good food."
