"The Hotel Nouvel was in a convenient location a block off La Rambla and very close to Placa Catalunya, making it easy to connect to the airport or train station. Yet, once off La Rambla, it was quieter and more peaceful. The hotel spaces are smaller than they look on the website but they were historic and interesting. Our room was very small and one night we had neighbors in the next room and we could hear their conversations clearly. But the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. When we arrived, we were charged more than expected (and quoted by Hotels.com) for local taxes. Perhaps due to currency changes? There was a restaurant, bar, and breakfast room but when we were checked in staff did not mention these amenities to us. Breakfast was served too late for us to opt in at any rate. There is an extra charge for this but if you want a quick coffee/tea and a croissant or other breakfast item, there are numerous places open early on the same block and on the next for a small price. We avoided La Rambla for the most part due to the tourists and construction and walked the other direction where there is a lively street 2 blocks away and you are close to sites like the Palau de Musica Catalana. It's also within walking distance to the Gothic Quarter. Overall, we were pleased with our stay due to the convenience of the location."

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Lamaro Hotel. From the moment we arrived, every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. The location is outstanding—right in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, making it the perfect base for exploring Barcelona. What truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional service. My son has severe food allergies, and because of this, I had emailed the hotel about a month before our arrival. At that time, they were unsure whether they could safely accommodate his dietary needs. However, when we arrived and visited the restaurant, the staff immediately took our allergy cards and carefully reviewed all of the information. From that point forward, every member of the restaurant team was informed and attentive. Each day, they surprised us with new allergy-friendly treats and went above and beyond to ensure our meals were safe. My son and I both have severe allergies to gluten, nuts, eggs, dairy, and sesame, so finding a hotel that takes food allergies seriously is incredibly important. The restaurant staff was consistently kind, warm, professional, and genuinely caring throughout our stay. The front desk team was equally phenomenal. Whether we needed an iron delivered to our room or had questions about the city, every request was met with a smile and handled immediately. Their attentiveness and hospitality made us feel truly welcome. Lamaro Hotel delivered an exceptional experience"

"This hotel is in a Great location in the Gothic Quarter, very close to Barcelona's magnificent Cathedral. It is steps from the History Museum, and even has exposed Roman ruins right on its premises! The staff were all very nice & helpful, the shower was good, and housekeeping was fine. The downside is that the rooms are Very Small. We had a Triple, but it is really not big enough for 3 people. Our luggage didn't even fit in the room - we had to step over each other's bags to get into bed. Also, there are not enough outlets for even basic electronics (1 laptop & 1 phone each) and the internet is terrible. We ended up just using a hotspot off our cell phones. I don't know if these problems are common in the old Gothic Quarter, but you should know about these limitations if you need your laptop and a little elbow room."
